#MedTwitter The simple physics behind the patulous eustachian tube:-When the Eustachian tube stays abnormally open, it creates an extra pathway for sound energy to enter the ear. This additional route allows sound waves to interact in unusual ways.

Infections lead to sinus tachycardia. But relative bradycardia is seen in the case of typhoid and dengue. This is known as the Faget sign. #MedTwitter

@PJaseja Our system too doesn't reward "why". You spend countless time making the topic perfect, but it doesn't feel rewarding as teachers and peers around you discuss only the "relevant" stuff. The one spitting up facts get the "genius" tag and all your effort appears futile.

Many coaching take away "why" from the subject. They make you learn protocol and key points but the crux is gone. The "why" is the thing that makes subject long, interesting and sometimes difficult. May be that's why it's removed Especially with surgery in many of the notes...

She asked us to convince her daughter to seek treatment. She wasn't affected by the fact that she has been diagnosed with cancer. The illness of her child concerned her more than anything else.

#MedTwitter Mother’s love is truly unmatched. Today, a 65 year old woman received a diagnosis of DCIS. She had come with her daughter, who has dysuria for a month. Even in the face of her own illness, the mother’s greatest worry was that her daughter had not sought treatment(1/2)

Every time I read maternal pelvis and fetal skull... Evolution made human babies dumber with smaller brains so that they can get out of such small pelvis But why make smaller pelvis? It's an advantage -shorter closer hip bones to spine help walk easily without wobbling much..

Studying Medicine for INI-CET is hard. You can’t spend months on one subject, yet you need a base strong enough to score ≥80%.🧵

@garg_gpt As you said don't directly jump to the videos. I tried revising endo before beginning medicine lectures but it took so much time and after completion, all the effort went futile..

@garg_gpt Thank you so much for taking out time and sharing your study strategy. Just wanted to ask, did you ever watch medicine Marrow videos during your preparation? I tried watching the videos but failed miserably in retaining anything significant.

Instead of fixing real issues in medical colleges and hospitals, the government keeps coming up with such bogus ideas 🤡 Medical students are committing suicide, hospitals are understaffed, faculties are leaving, resident doctors are collapsing under 36-48 hours workload, essential drugs are short, violence against doctors is increasing, and primary health infrastructure in many areas is falling apart. Lekin ye sab se kya farak padta hai. Doctor saab, aap Hindi me dawai likho, baaki sab bakwaas ki baatein hai.

An example of how serious our country's gatekeepers are about health. WHO's ORS is a fixed-ratio combination of glucose and electrolytes that's scientifically proven and has saved millions of children's lives from diarrhoea. Then came the businesses, selling energy or fruit based drinks with similar names like ORSL, Smart ORS, Hydra ORS. These formulas neither had the approved glucose-electrolyte ratio nor any efficacy in treating diarrhoea; in fact, they could worsen it in kids. These products were duly approved by the FSSAI. Misleading ORS were conveniently stocked right next to genuine ORS sachets in stores, and many unsuspecting parents ended up buying the wrong one. A group of doctors, led by a pediatrician, raised this issue for 8 years to get fake ORS drinks to stop using ORS in their names. Finally, after almost a decade, FSSAI passed the order to ban such misleading labelling on Oct 14th. Next, a pharma giant went to the Delhi High Court and got the order stayed to dispose of its current stock on Oct 17th. FSSAI did not oppose their demand or reaffirm the ban in court, nor did they challenge the stay order in the Supreme Court till now. Why? My guess is as good as yours.

Bad News - And a Bigger Fight Ahead The Delhi High Court has paused the FSSAI ban on fake ORS drinks. Now, the company can sell 180 crore worth of stock - nearly 4 crore packs of the same sugary drink that has 10x more sugar than WHO-approved ORS. That proves ROl matters more than human lives. These drinks can be dangerous for children, especially during dehydration. Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh fought for 8 years to get this ban - we can't let that fight go to waste. Let's raise our voice. Because if we stay quiet now, they'll keep winning #pharma #justice #ors

Deepawali is the largest, and perhaps the only, pan-India festival that truly brings people back home, as those away from family make their way to native towns. It deserves a full week of national holidays. If needed, revoke holidays like Gandhi Jayanti and few more, that don’t resonate with the masses and give Deepawali the recognition it deserves. Other countries set a precedent too, with long holidays for festivals like Chinese New Year, Christmas in West, and Japan’s Golden Week.

Another Black Day for India's Medical Fraternity. An MBBS student was raped outside her college in Durgapur. Another campus. Another daughter. Same horror. How many times will this country fail its women? How many times will we act surprised - like we didn't see it coming?? We light candles, we post hashtags, we move on. But she won't. She'll carry that night for the rest of her life. And tomorrow, somewhere else, another girl will step out to study, not knowing she could be next. Every delay, every silence, every excuse it doesn't just protect the criminal, it creates the next one. How long before we admit it's not the women who are unsafe. It's the country that's sick. #doctor #rape #unsafe #women
