@jessewldn Ironically, decentralization is often at odds with consumer protections - e.g. the most decentralized tokens (meme coins) are amongst the riskiest assets for consumers.

So should we seek rules that further define sufficient decentralization, or seek adaptation of securities laws that makes sense in a world of user-generated ownership at the scale of user-generated content? Probably both.

Maybe we have to stop focusing exclusively on decentralization, and instead push for adaptation of securities laws to a reality of user-generated ownership (tokens), similar to how copyright law adapted to user-generated content with DMCA in the aughts.

@cjliu49 @gham1lt0n @jessewldn This is also a half-baked idea...but what if you used a contract wallet? You wouldn't need a centralized issuer but could still limit token transfers.

What are the biggest painpoints when using lending protocols? What changes at the product or protocol level would most improve UX or unlock new use cases?

Also, egalitarianism, openness, anonymity, and inclusivity are all part of the crypto ethos (although you could argue that crypto is often non-inclusive in practice - e.g. bro culture, NFT communities, etc).

All these features seem especially important for crypto communities where consensus is a key driver of economic success, everyone is battling for attention, people are overloaded with (highly fragmented) information, and people have a tendency to talk over each other.

@Reddit is still the best platform for community organizing at scale.
