For something which is very common and a daily fact of life, it's amazing how English doesn't seem to have a neutral word to refer to poop
"Poop" or "poo" sound too silly
"Stool", "feces", and "excrement" are too formal
"Shit" is too rude

I had hash browns at this hotel when I was twelve. I still remember them. They were the best hash browns of my life. Therefore, I honestly allow them this wood abomination. If you’re ever in Cambridge Mass, just go to the Charles Hotel and eat the hash browns and read nothing.
