@C8ishop Do you regularly gain 23 pounds? You did several special things. Plan, focus, execution. You hadn’t made this huge jump before when you were actually doing nothing special.

Here’s what 23 weeks of consistency looks like. Took my deadlift to 500lbs in 5 months. Didn’t do anything special, just made a plan, took advice and showed up each week. Pushed bodyweight from 187 to 210. Now it’s time to tidy up for summer before working towards 600lbs.

@mikeoniron Hot take for some: People who can stay lean long term without counting calories or macros have developed "tricks" to help keep their calories down and macros in line. People that say they don't matter are fighting a battle of semantics.

There’s a guy at my gym who is shredded all year round. Not huge. Natural. Athletic. He’s been that way for at least 5 years I’ve known of him. I asked him what he does. - counts calories - counts macros Occasionally - binge eat - cardio binge He doesn’t listen when people say: - calories don’t matter - carbs aren’t essential - you just do this - you just do that Nope. What he does: - manages amount of food - manages type of food - manages activity “I did all the other bullshit” he said. The lean, healthy life is not for everyone. But his approach is simple and has served him well over the long term.

It'll be interesting to see what the AP pollsters do with BYU this week. Last week, BYU went 2-0, including a Quad 1 away win and a home win in which Richie Saunders played only 45 seconds--and BYU dropped from 22nd to 23rd (the only 2-0 team to drop). This week, BYU played its first two full games without Saunders, losing a seven-point game at then-No. 4 Arizona and beating at home then-No. 6 Iowa State by 10 points.

@mcuban The hardest part to me is the salary cap, especially when it isn't really a cap.

You get allocated “rookie cap space “ equal to the salary defined by the CBA. Team with the worst record , gets the 14m or whatever the salary is for the number one pick. And so on. They can use it on as many draft eligible players as they want. So if you don’t like the predicted number one player , but like 3 players that might have gone lower, you draft and sign all three , to a total of 14m You can’t trade any unspent portion. You can only trade the total you originally received. . The hard part is the negotiating. Like free agency. But one thing is for certain. The fans will go NUTS over the strategy and decisions. It would be hard for teams but really exciting.
Kevin Pritchard@PacersKev

@TheDunkCentral What mechanism would you use to sign a rookie free agent - cap space or exception? And how would that appear on the cap? Just curious.

@mcuban @tjparker Hasn't been a huge problem for Tylenol, Lidocaine, and tons of others. We also allow bleach and ammonia to be sold, often in the same aisle at the store. I bet we could figure it out.

The issue then becomes that anyone can sell them. Anywhere The prescription means it has to route through a qualified pharmacist Individually , any cheap, easy to understand generic is not a problem. Matched with something that can cause damage , it could be deadly. That’s what pharmacists and pharmacies are for. Now if you require they be sold in a pharmacy , that could work.

I always flex and pose when I’m done lifting Will help with a variety of things Forces more blood into the muscles Better pumps Create striations (aka the feather look when you’re shredded) Better nutrient delivery from enhanced blood flow Provides additional isometric contraction to squeeze out more work from the muscle (If you’ve posed before for bodybuilding, you know how exhausting it can get) Plus… Who doesn’t like flexing with a pump for a confidence boost and get ya feeling good for the rest of the day

CrossFit is one of the hardest sports to logistically prepare for. There’s some underlying qualities you must have, like the ability to do massive amounts of volume. From what I’ve learned, the body can handle a lot more than traditional S&C thinks.

@sam_gzstrength 225 bench isn't entry level for the lifter population. It's entry level for male lifters that weigh more than 200 pounds, but you're getting into pretty small subsets of a very small subset. Just admit it...225 is a great bench.
