@petitcapet Mozart and Schubert duets! Mozart: Sonata K381, Andante with Five Variations K501, Sonata K521 Schubert: A Major Rondo D951, F Minor Fantasy D940 Martha gave Daniel a peck on the cheek at the end - she was so happy to have her friend back at the piano too.

I’m feeling so lucky to have experienced a truly once-in-a-lifetime concert: Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich playing duets in Hamburg. It was the most beautiful music making I’ve ever heard, and an evening that none of the audience (myself included) will ever forget.

The great Maurizio Pollini in London once more. A capacity Festival Hall was fully standing for the piano legend - after an emotional concert, he was noticeably moved.

It may feel underwhelming to some, but the 'world's greatest classical music festival' tagline will continue to stand. Evidence? I bet you 'Orrible 'Opera will be a blast.

The expansion of the Proms at... season is a good sign, but one regrets the ditching of the Proms Extra talks, or the chamber concerts at Cadogan Hall. No chamber music in London for the whole of Summer is a clear oversight.

Thoughts on the BBC Proms 2023: Ambitious programming in places (Ligeti Requiem, Das Paradies und die Peri) Anniversaries predictable (Rach 1, 2, 3, Paganini Rhapsody...solely well-known works, no opera!), but Pejačević 100, like Smyth last year, extremely welcome.
