there are days in nyc when i’m walking through the streets, looking up at the skyscrapers, smiling ear to ear, wishing i were spider-man swinging between buildings, while blasting the 'spider-man: far from home' score in my airpods. and there are nights when i’m walking alone through the misty city, the streets dim, cop car lights flashing somewhere in the distance, blasting 'the dark knight' theme on my airpods, hoping to see the bat signal somewhere above the skyline. man, i love it here. life is a cinema.

the older i get the more i realize how much of life is just increasing your surface area for luck. go outside more. travel when you can. try new cafés. wander into museums. take a different route home. hike a new trail. see a city you’ve never seen. bring a notebook. talk to strangers. ask better questions. start something small on the side. in other words, give yourself more chances for something unexpected to happen. you can literally just do things. and strangely enough, the more you do, the more luck seems to find you.

it generally helps to remember that most of the things you worried about in the past don’t really matter as much now. not because you solved those worries, but because they were never as big of a problem as they seemed in that moment

during my time at nyu over the last 1.5 years, i've constantly put myself in rooms where i felt like i didn't belong. rooms full of people who seemed smarter, more accomplished, more articulate, better looking, more 'complete' than me. rooms where i felt out of place because of my accent, my lack of understanding of cultural references, context, slang, and a general lack of exposure and experiences. i've felt lonely in rooms full of people who admired me, or even my work. the constant comparison has had both a good and a not-so-good side. the good side is that i've raised my bar for both work and life. i've set new goals inspired by them and coming internally of course, gone out of my way to learn the good things from them, and implemented those things in my own life to see meaningful progress in both work and personal life. i've slowly created a place for myself in these rooms. i've developed new interests, broadened my exposure and understanding of the world, and also of who i am. the not-so-good side is of course the comparison. not jealousy. but constantly expecting more and more from myself to the point where nothing really feels like an achievement, personal or professional, because the bar always keeps increasing. i also feel this sense of 'incompleteness', because i can clearly see the insane gap between who i was and who i am now, and also the gap between who i am today and where i want to go. but why be surprised by growth and the ways in which it comes to you, when you manifested for it :)

Nobody is coming to save you. You are in control. It's all on you. But you are entirely capable of figuring it out. Of squeezing everything you want out of this life. You can wake up tomorrow and completely reinvent yourself. You are at the wheel. Never let go.

We got the highest upvoted Hacker News launch in YC W26! (131 upvotes and 83 comments) Okay cool, but why is this so special? HN is developer centric and they are skeptical by default. They don't cheer for prosumer tools behind a paywall. Cardboard is built for creators / founders / marketing teams. It's not a dev tool and it's definitely not free! Then why/how did it work? - Zero marketing fluff: we put an honest technical write up about what we built and why. - Fast, thoughtful replies: we treated it like a user interview, not a launch and replied to every comment. - Care: we made a customized demo experience so that HN audience can try without signup / payment. - No fake accounts or friends pushing the post. The internet can tell if you're making something people want :)

stepped outside my apartment. heard a v8 engine. walked to the intersection. saw a beautiful ferrari roma in verde (ferrari’s green). ran closer to record a video. but all the lights were green, so it passed by so fast. still the same kid who lights up seeing supercars every day.
