@_saffron_ What Netanyahu is doing in Gaza right now is absolutely above and beyond what I consider a reasonable use of force, and that sucks, and frankly, I hope he is convicted of and locked up for war crimes.

@somelaurachick It is more understandable that a people would fight back somehow. All that said, I think Netanyahu and the far-right gov are responsible for so much of this, but ordinary Israelis who publicly disagree with the Gaza policies are themselves in danger.

@somelaurachick I am certainly not endorsing the terrorist attacks by Hamas, but A) Israel's responding force has been completely disproportionate and is responsible for at least 11,000 deaths (so many of which are civilians) & B) thru the lens of decades of oppression, subjugation & horror,

@somelaurachick But colonizing is exactly what Israel is doing right now. They have repeatedly stolen land from Palestinians by forcibly removing them, and then settled it. Gaza lives in an Apartheid state.

@somelaurachick Living in fully liberal spaces is indeed EXHAUSTING. Everyone has anxiety, everything is traumatizing, everything is triggering, everything is problematic, everyone is cancelled. The culture encourages everyone to be fragile & offended so you must be careful all the damn time

@_saffron_ Seriously though I am so sick of how everything out here has to be countercultural ALL THE TIME. I am doing the best I have in decades in my monogamous engagement just taking care of my cats and yard. At a certain age, the west coast lifestyle just gets exhausting.
