@BlossomingLilac Haina? Living in Middle East I see this cultural difference. Also, it comes as a shock to Arabs as well that we Pakistanis have this kind of thinking that cooking is mandatory for ladies.

@_sehrish_ Not at all. In fact, in Islam, it is not obligatory for a wife to do house chores. It's her choice if she wants to do it or not. Not even her husband can force her. Our culture is completely anti Islam.

Do you guys think a bahu/Wife not cooking and doing job is still a taboo in desi culture?

@BlossomingLilac Depends on individual to individual. But do you think that cooking defines a good bahu/wife? Coz I’ve been told all my life that how essential it is to learn cooking if you want to get married someday

@_sehrish_ If I get a choice, I'd rather cook than do a job but then everyone should be given the same choice and those who want to do a job should do a job.
