@DENAirport @AmericanAir A plane was on fire, with toxic smoke billowing across the tarmac and concourse, right next to the control tower, and operations are still "normal"?? I saw a video with other planes taxiing right past the fire. Something seems wrong with this picture!

DEN emergency crews responded to an aircraft incident earlier this evening at gate C38. All passengers were safely evacuated from the plane. 12 people were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. DEN operations are normal. Refer to @AmericanAir for further details.

@SFMTA_Muni Alternatively, there are other ways to address the north end of the 43. It could end in Presidio Heights like the 2, or it could even continue north and east as the 45. The main thing I want is a direct connection from the de Young / Academy of Sciences to Fort Mason.

Hey @SFMTA_Muni: often I want to get from Golden Gate Park to the Presidio or Fisherman's Wharf, but there is no route. Here's a suggestion to merge the 2, the 43, and the 44 into two L-shaped routes that offer better routes for passengers like me and many others. 🚍

@byJoshuaDavis @SFBART For it to be economically feasible I think the connection needs to service transbay commuters, too. Millbrae to Bay Fair would do that, but then the airport connection is slower. Best would be a tunnel bored deep underground connecting Coliseum, OAK, SFO, and Millbrae.

At top speed @sfbart could shuttle passengers directly between SFO and OAK airports in 8 minutes. This is faster than the 11 minutes it takes to ride on the SFO AirTrain from Terminal 3 to the Rental Car Center. Therefore SFO and OAK should be one airport connected by BART. This will also solve most of the weather-based congestion at SFO. Flights could use runways on either side of the Bay.

Talked to the station agent at W. Oak station today. The fare gates haven't stopped fare evasion; people still muscle through, and while I stood there I witnessed a tailgator. Let's solve the problem, but this type of fare gate doesn't do the job. @SFBART #transit

@kiley0 @pipobscure @therealptomato I'll just add that browser vendors prefer to ship a proposal that is stable, so any slowdown in the number of changes on the proposal repository is reflective of the state in which the proposal needs to be in order for engines to implement it.

Temporal! The stage 3 TC39 proposal we all love that fixes JavaScript's Date. Had a lot of movement in '21-'22, but not much in '23. Should we assume it's still on its way to stage 4? Should we feel ok using js-temporal/polyfill — not just to try it, but in prod for big apps?

@Jeffinatorator @RebeccaForBART In general it's quite interesting that storefronts in older buildings in this area tend to be very high occupancy, but the storefronts in TODs, here and elsewhere in the Bay Area, sit vacant for years and years.

@Jeffinatorator @RebeccaForBART Yes please, more retail. Need to understand why businesses are not choosing these locations and respond with appropriate incentives. High rent and lease terms are likely deterrents but also could be lack of parking at the TOD, perceived crime, etc.

@Jeffinatorator There is a small grocer on the block in the historic building at 40th & Telegraph. Probably got a better deal on the lease than in the new TOD construction.
