It’s ok for students to just learn the basics and NOT create a $1million App, solve climate change, or write prize winning poetry. There a difference between opening opportunity and expecting savant behavior from 16yr olds. The kid just passing classes is doing just fine.

@ElvinFortuna @MSU_EPET @zotero It's never too early to consider how to organize your readings to prep for comps. Review the sample Qs & reflect on the steps you might take for finding sources. Use that to inform your folders/tags. For me, this was by course & method, but it may be different for you! :) 4/4

@ElvinFortuna @MSU_EPET @zotero Pro tip: You can even add citations for books/chapters that you don't have the digital text for so that the citation is still available to you when writing or searching for "that one reading I did that one time." 3/x

@MSU_EPET Graduate school is a great time to take chances, try new things, and seek unique opportunities. I love being able to shape my own education and build the experience I want while I'm here. #MSUepet

@MSU_EPET Making connections with faculty and students through coursework in other programs and becoming comfortable directly asking about opportunities, sharing my interests, and initiating collaborations with new people was also very important! #MSUepet

@MSU_EPET Creating groups or group chats on various social media platforms with my #MSUepet cohort really helped us bond socially and academically. I can't imagine getting through my PhD without them! <3

@MSU_EPET #MSUepet was right for me because I had the freedom to take courses across different programs and work with an advisor @chrisgreenhow who supported me in exploring my interests and finding my own path to the expertise I wanted. 😀

@MSU_EPET I always love to remind new PhD students to take care of their whole selves--you are more than your research, and everyone is on their own path. #MSUepet
