@NASA @NASAArtemis @NASA If someone threw a bouncy ball off the craft while passing by from the capsule, would it be possible for it to hit the surface of the moon and kick all the way back up to the capsule at it’s future position?

What would you ask our @NASAArtemis astronauts traveling around the Moon? Reply with your questions and the crew may choose a few to answer during their journey.

@esjesjesj @NorthStar3690 Satellites are their single biggest means to fund space missions you absolute moron. Blue Origin doesn’t market their commercial constellation for shits and giggles building their own moon project either.

@NorthStar3690 I know. This mission does not exist to launch starlink satellites. That’s what I mean

@blind_via There were like 20 other independent high magnification cameras transmitting stage sep live on youtube ready to broadcast an incident in 4k, this was a straight fuck up from the NASA feed guy.

"They panned away on purpose, just in case it exploded" The sad part is that this is probably correct. NASA was neutered by Challenger and Columbia incidents; this risk aversion is the reason why they struggle so hard just to get this far with Post Shuttle Human flight.
BlindVia@blind_via

We have LIFT OFF! Fire the camera guy though, they took the camera away from the rocket during booster separation to show us the crowd 😭 I'm dyin, I wanted to see the sep

Update on the toilet They can use it for poop, but they have to use Collapsible Contingency Urinals (CCUs) for urine

Between 1968 and 1972, twenty-four humans entered lunar space, where the Moon's gravity dominates that of the Earth (within about 66000 km from the selenocenter). Only five of them are still alive.

@RALee85 I just found a new type of artillery with optical guidance, that not only just suppresses targets but also guides itself precisely at them (hint: it’s got 4 propellers)

@somefoundersalt Do you know how many VIPER lunar landers there could be for the price of this hunk of rusty steel pipes on wheels? 7. From the ground up, R&D included, 7 vipers, which would NOT be put on the chopping block in place of this garbage can. Legit criminal amounts of wasted capital.

Bechtel somehow drove up the cost of ML-2 to over $2B from an initial contract award of $383M and STILL wasn’t able to deliver in 7 years despite NASA even cutting back on its requirements to make it easier on them Amazing grift. Their executives should be in prison
Eric Berger@SciGuySpace

During a news conference today NASA's Shawn Quinn confirmed that a stop work order has been issued for the second Mobile Launch tower at Kennedy Space Center. This was a massively mismanaged program completely unnecessary for landing on the Moon, and richly deserved this fate.

Hilarious movie. You spend 90 minutes trying to figure out what the mystery is and how to stop it and then they go “actually, you’re just fucked :)” with like 10 mins left in the film. Truly one of a kind
