Former CIA Director David Petraeus has been to Ukraine 10 times since Russia’s invasion in 2022. He tells @cbsnews during his most recent trip that Ukraine now has the upper hand in the war.

Ex-CIA Director, Petraeus: Russia no longer has the upper hand. Russia heavily outnumbers and outguns Ukraine. It has economy 12 times of Ukraine's. Yet Ukraine's forces are stopping Russians on the frontline. Russians have achieved less than Ukrainians have in last 2 weeks. 1/

Their [Ukrainian] level of innovation is out of this world - US Lieutenant General Steven Whitney, director of force structure, resources, and assessment of the Joint Staff. Comment from me: Ukrainian defense industry is a very powerful player.

Ukraine has established a kill zone along the front, which makes it extremely difficult for the Russians to advance. Russians call it a drone zone, which extends 10 to 15 kilometers along the frontline. Essentially, within this drone zone, it is nearly impossible for the Russians to move except on foot and at night. And even then, they become targets. Ukraine has made drones its key defensive asset. ‼️This is not a "war fought by the poor," as some disparagingly say about Ukraine. This is a modern war. And Ukraine, over the last few years and right now, is changing the way modern wars are fought. Ukraine is demonstrating an incredible level of technical and technological innovation and adaptation of weapons and defense systems. Ukraine is emerging as a powerful military superpower in the midst of a major war, under the pressure of shelling, and in the face of losses. Ukraine has not just stood its ground; it has adapted and is now taking the war onto the enemy's territory. 📹: The Sun

Didier Deschamps: "The only controversial penalty awarded to Argentina was the one in the match against Poland and it was missed. Argentina scored 15 goals in the World Cup and only 4 were penalties. They had 3 goals disallowed in the first match, and against the Netherlands, a questionable foul was called near the end with 10 minutes added - an excessive amount of stoppage time, in my opinion. I don’t understand those who say Argentina was helped in the final. My players and I didn’t complain about the penalty because we knew it was the right call. All I can do is congratulate Argentina and France for giving us the greatest final in World Cup history."

Bill Browder: War in Ukraine is now only about Putin’s personal survival. He needs the war to stay in power, and he needs to stay in power to stay alive. The destruction of Russia is unparalleled, but he cannot stop. If he stops, he loses everything. 1/

The greatest threat Russia presents right now is that it gains more at the negotiation table than it has achieved on the battlefield. Russia’s maximalist demands cannot be met with a minimalist response. Extract of my speech at @MunSecConf

President Stubb: I think you [Ukraine] are winning this war, and the reason I say this is that Putin has failed strategically. He wanted to make Ukraine Russian. It became European. He wanted to prevent the enlargement of NATO. He got Finland and Sweden. He wanted to keep our defense expenditure down, and it's now going up to 5%. Secondly, he's losing on the military front. When the war began, Russia acquired 12% of Ukrainian territory. That's 12 years ago. Since then, 8%. In the past two years, 1%. In December, Ukraine was able to kill 34,000 Russian soldiers. They were not able to recruit back. Just keep on what you're doing, and at the end of the day, you will prevail and win this war.
