BOTCHED EXECUTION ATTEMPT #TonyCarruthers "In yet another outrage related to capital punishment in the United States, this time in Tennessee, prison officials have failed in their attempts to execute a prisoner. The execution process for Tony Carruthers was halted ("for now") with much blood and pain reported after a failed attempt to perform a cutdown to access a vein. Issues of due process and untested DNA evidence with could prove innocence in this case not withstanding, government cannot be trusted with the power to kill prisoners, and they certainly cannot be trusted to get it right, every time. It is well past time to abolish the death penalty." --abe Abraham J. Bonowitz Director/Co-Founder Death Penalty Action

The San Diego press conference about the mosque attacked is horrifying. Police: The security guard's "actions without a doubt.. deterred these two individuals from gaining access to the greater areas of the mosque where as many as 140 kids were within 15 feet of these suspects"

Another Zionist attack on a Within Our Lifetime protest in Manhattan. Another complete lack of accountability. During our Nakba protest on May 15, 2026, Joel Trachtenberg threw eggs at protesters from above. This follows years of Zionist attacks targeting WOL demonstrations, including the April 7, 2025 assault where bleach, rocks, feces, and other hazardous materials were thrown at protesters from a Manhattan luxury high rise while the NYPD stood by and protected the attackers instead of arresting them. The NYPD’s double standard is undeniable. During WOL’s annual Nakba protest on May 18, 2024 in Bay Ridge, police literally climbed a fire escape and attempted to enter a home because a speaker had been placed outside a window to amplify protest sound. During another WOL protest on February 10, 2024 across from the Brooklyn Museum, police entered a building looking to arrest protesters after pro Palestine banners were unfurled from a rooftop. But when Zionists throw eggs, rocks, bleach, feces, and other projectiles at Palestinians from buildings during WOL protests in Manhattan, suddenly the NYPD cannot enter the building, identify the attackers, or make arrests. We are demanding accountability for these attacks and public condemnation from officials, just as they rightly condemn other acts of politically motivated and Islamophobic violence in this city. Palestinians should not be expected to endure violent attacks in silence while the people targeting us are protected with total impunity. Statement from last year’s attack below. wolpalestine.com/statements/exp…

The comments by reporters endorsing the cold-blooded murder of a husband and father are absolutely reprehensible. No decent human being should be celebrating or justifying the execution of another person because they disagree with his business practices or politics. The normalization of this kind of rhetoric is dangerous and morally bankrupt. What makes this even more disturbing is that some of the individuals making these statements hold official NYC press credentials. Press passes exist to provide legitimate journalists access to scenes, events, and restricted areas so they can inform the public, not so radical activists can masquerade as members of the media while promoting extremism and political violence. Over the past several years, we have repeatedly seen individuals carrying press credentials using them during demonstrations and events to harass police officers, intimidate members of the public, interfere with law enforcement operations, and shield activist behavior behind the label of “journalism.” That undermines the credibility of legitimate reporters and creates serious public safety concerns. After hearing from multiple reporters with decades of experience reporting in NYC, before I left office, my administration was going through the process of rewriting the rules governing NYC press credentials to strengthen standards, protect the integrity of the press corps, and prevent political activists posing as journalists from obtaining official credentials and the access that comes with them. As your own publication reported, those proposed reforms were going through the rule-making process before being scrapped by the current administration: nydailynews.com/2026/01/12/mam… That decision was reckless. Official press credentials should not be handed out in a way that allows extremists to abuse them while hiding behind the credibility and protections afforded to legitimate journalism. This needs to change, and it needs to change now.

⭕️ Three adults were killed in the shooting attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego, including a mosque security guard whom police say likely prevented an even larger massacre. San Diego police said the two suspected shooters, ages 17 and 19, were later found dead inside a vehicle several blocks away from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed all children and staff at the mosque’s school complex were safely evacuated or locked down without injuries. Police and the FBI are investigating the attack as a potential hate crime.
Acyn@Acyn

Police on San Diego Mosque Shooting:  Both suspects are deceased… Officers arrived, arrived on scene and observed immediately what appeared to be deceased victims out in front.  At about the same time, we began to receive calls from just a couple blocks away that we had more active gunfire. There was a landscaper that was doing his work that was shot at and was not hit.  Moments later, officers were called to that location where they found a vehicle in the middle of the street with who we believe to be the shooters in this incident, both deceased.
