@smokevapeutah@GrimmGreen It’s really unfortunate but sadly this is the reality of it all. Honestly feels like it’s just getting worse here too. Corruption always seems to find a way 😔
Albanese is not long for the top job.
A big call after an election where it would seem he belted the opposition.
But todays press conference exposed a ‘leader’ who, after a full days briefing, practice-and-notetaking was unable to speak with clarity. He was unable to hold his own.
Albanese has just shown us the part we were not supposed to see. That Australia is not a sovereign nation. Senator Wong was better at the cover story, but that is beside the point. Albanese is uncomfortable in the top job now, because our partners have made a turn to war.
Australia is a passenger. In his breathless, gibbering, and sweaty cut-short 12-minute presser, Albanese gave up the ghost.
He would not answer the simple question – were Australian assets and/or bases on our soil involved in the attack on Iran?
His response lacked clarity and authority. Worse, the fact that he did not clearly say “no”, tells us more about our involvement. Even worse they probably knew ahead of time, and they just lied to the public. Absolutely gutless.
In his defence, the follow-on questions would have been far more inconvenient for him, and to be fair, no matter what he said, it would damage him. So, he sweated, panted and shut the whole thing down. Far from a strong leader, Albanese is now an embattled Prime Minister.
He has spent his life being at the right place at the right time. Like a man who has never had a real job, sitting in the chairman’s lounge sipping champagne with the CEO.
This time, for the first time, Albanese is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
His party can’t afford to have him stuff more of this up. The people behind the scenes know what damage can be done. I think Albanese is a fraud. I think he has pretended his way to the top and now he really must perform, and it is beyond him.
Unlike the recent election, where the opposition went into retreat, Albanese has to stand steadfast in the face of war and every difficult inconvenience that brings.
Not only does he have to maintain our security in the region, but he must also be able to speak to our main defence partner as an equal. He should be strong enough to reclaim some of our sovereignty. His job is to put Australia’s interests first.
He can’t do that. The people who put him in the top job will be looking at ways to remove him - and fast.
Because there will be more press conferences like this moving forward. Worse still, there will be much more difficult decisions to be made, and I don’t think Albanese is strong or ideologically aligned enough to help make them.
My guess is that he will soon be looking to spend more time with Jodie as they plan their wedding, and retirement at the Copa-Copacabana.
Australia deserves better than Albanese. We deserve better than the governments we have been served for a while. I expect this time enough people will start to see it.
At least I hope so.
We don’t have the luxury of time, our nation is hurting, and we are on the brink of war.
I just want Australia back.

Anyone else in #perth just lost power? The @westernpowerwa website is also down so we can’t check on outages, and their phone number isn’t working either. 😳
