We are shocked and desperately saddened to learn that the famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall has been felled overnight, in what appears to be an act of vandalism. We know just how much this iconic tree is loved locally, nationally and by everyone who has visited. We are working with our partners to understand what has happened and what can be done. The incident has also been reported to the police.

@HilaryMcGrady Warm day / cool night? Warm air holds more moisture than cold air. As air cools the air loses its ability to hold moisture (hygroscopic capacity) and that forms vapour in the air in this case appearing as mist.

St. Mary, Beverley. This hole in the pew was made during WWII when a German bomber strafed the Saturday Market in Beverley, Yorkshire. The hole is still visible in the stained glass above. Bullet still lodged in pew behind.

@StationCDRKelly @coronacanada Flight that then returned us home. The baggage was then flown back to the Uk via Ireland and was eventually returned to us 11 days after original departure - 2/2 doesn’t really beat @StationCDRKelly but after a year in space I think he’s been away long enough.

@coronacanada Flew to Madrid for a wedding. Luggage never made it on the flight. Spent a week waiting with a promise from Ryanair that it would be sent to our accommodation. Despite note on account that it not shipped by a certain date Ryanair in their wisdom flew our bags out on the 1/2

@BenJCapper the balloons fly at lower altitude Most balloons will travel about 19-25 miles high, so Lower than the internationally recognized boundary for space — thus are a breach or controlled airspace.

Why is a high altitude balloon 🎈 more threatening than a satellite 🛰️ - just lower altitude? And will we see satellites shot down in the future? 🤔
