AN URGENT APPEAL TO THE X COMMUNITY: Help My Sister Marycynthia Win Her Battle Against Lymphoma This is the part of life that nothing prepares you for. One day you are healthy, strong, and full of dreams; the next, everything changes because of a few signs on your body. My sister, Marycynthia, and I are just two young women trying to find our way in the world. I am a 25 year old graduate, and she is a 23 year old student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). Marycynthia has always been the brilliant one, my parents rarely had to pay her school fees because she constantly won scholarships. Even from her hospital bed, she was recently awarded another scholarship sponsored by NNPC. She was supposed to resume this January as a 400-level Law student, but this illness has already taken two years of her life. I am reaching out to ask for financial assistance for her treatment. For those who know the medical reality, chemotherapy alone is often not a permanent solution for advanced-stage cancer. She was being managed by the Haematology department at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) before the NARD strike worsened our situation. Now, her best chance at survival is a Bone Marrow Transplant. Despite having anemia, low neutrophil and platelet counts, her kidney and liver functions remain stable. This shows that while her situation is critical, it is not hopeless. We have been recommended to a hospital in Benin. The cost for the transplant is ₦45,000,000. We don't know for sure how many courses of chemotherapy she is going to receive, scans (PET, CT, ultrasound), concentrated platelets, neutropenia care, transfusions, and private hospital bills, we summed a total of ₦62,000,000 ($44,000). At first, I felt like my world was crashing. The amount is overwhelming. But thanks to the support of friends and kind-hearted strangers, we have raised ₦18,400,000 ($12,900) so far, which allowed her to begin chemotherapy. No one can watch their loved one waste away without doing everything possible. I am here again soliciting your support. Balancing her care and fundraising has not been easy for me, I need your help. We still need roughly ₦44,000,000 ($31,780) for the bone marrow transplant. From one Nigerian to another, one African to another, and one human to another: please help my sister survive Lymphoma. It is treatable if the right care is given. Help Marycynthia survive cancer! Tell someone about Marycynthia today! Keep Marycynthia in your thoughts and prayers! gofund.me/ecddb5a2b 1473988747 Okoro Marycynthia Chinaecherem Access bank #HelpsaveMarycynthia🤲 Before. Now

She called me and was screaming. she said "I won!" "There were so many people but I was among the winners!". It was a proud sister moment for me, I was sooo happy!! But looking at her right now, it feels like she's leaving me slowly, my girl needs help and I can't do it alone.

Guys a Colleague of mine finished her Shift and was brutally murdered on her way home. Help me to call out the @PoliceNG to fish out her killers. May her Soul Rest in peace. May Nigeria not happen to us!
Mobolaji I. Faniran@mobolajifaniran

CONDEMNATION OF THE BRUTAL KILLING OF NURSE CHINEMEREM PASCALINA CHUWUMEZIEM OF FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE, ABUJA I write on behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), FCT Council, to express our deep sorrow, outrage, and total condemnation of the unjust and brutal killing of our innocent young colleague, Nurse Chinemerem Pascalina Chuwumeziem, who was in active service with the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja. The deceased nurse, having spent her day rendering selfless service to humanity and saving lives, closed from afternoon duty on 3rd January 2026 and boarded a vehicle on her way home. Tragically, she never made it home alive. Her lifeless body was later discovered, dumped in a most inhumane and heartbreaking manner. This wicked and senseless act is not only an attack on the nursing profession but also an assault on healthcare workers and humanity at large. We hereby call on the entire security architecture in the Federal Capital Territory—including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)—to immediately conduct a thorough, transparent, and professional investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice without delay. The continuous harassment and attacks on nurses have further exposed the alarming level of insecurity faced daily by healthcare workers, particularly while commuting to and from duty. Our lives are no longer safe. Nurses leave their homes daily to save lives, yet many are uncertain of returning alive to their families. We strongly call on the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to urgently strengthen security around all hospitals in the FCT and at major junctions where nurses and other healthcare workers board vehicles, especially during early morning and late-night shifts. Where feasible, government should also provide safe and organised transportation for nurses to and from their places of work in order to prevent further loss of innocent lives. Furthermore, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Management of the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja, as well as nurses in the FCT and across Nigeria, over this painful and irreparable loss of our beloved daughter and dear colleague. We share in your grief and pray that God grants you the strength and fortitude to bear this devastating loss. We demand justice for our fallen colleague and urgent government intervention to guarantee the safety and security of all nurses and healthcare workers in the Federal Capital Territory. Anything short of decisive action will further expose nurses to danger and erode public confidence in the nation’s security system. Comr. Jama D. You don’t really understand this until you’ve had a few almosts A few dates where the conversation was fine, the food was decent, they laughed at the right moments, you nodded, you smiled, you did all the human things, and then you went home and felt nothing. Not heartbreak. Not excitement. Just this blank, polite calm like you finished a meeting. You lay in bed at 00:26 scrolling for a little dopamine hit because the whole night didn’t land anywhere in your body Or you meet someone who is objectively great on paper and your brain keeps trying to force it. They’re kind. They show up. They text back. They’re stable Your friends approve. And still, when you’re alone with them, something in you stays locked. You can’t explain it without sounding insane. “They’re perfect, I just… don’t feel it.” So you keep going for a while because you want to be normal and grateful and adult. Then one day you realize you’ve been living on a mild sedation. Not unhappy, not alive. That’s when the math hits you. Real connection is not common. not even close We talk about it like it should be easy because there are billions of people and apps and “put yourself out there” and a culture that makes love sound like a buffet. Pick someone. Swipe. Upgrade. Repeat. But genuine click is not about access. It’s about alignment. And alignment is rare in a way people don’t want to admit because it makes the world feel colder. Think about what has to line up for it to happen Two nervous systems that don’t trigger each other into shutdown. Two senses of humor that match. Two levels of intensity that don’t leave one person feeling chased and the other feeling abandoned. Two life rhythms that can actually share air. Two people who find each other at the same time in their lives, not one ready and the other half asleep. Two sets of wounds that don’t hook into each other like velcro. Two people whose idea of “home” is compatible. That’s before you even get to attraction. Before you get to values. Before you get to sex. Before you get to the boring reality of laundry and bills and sickness and family and the way people change. then add the fact that we are all walking around with invisible histories. Old loves. Old betrayals. Childhood stuff. Self-protection habits we pretend are personality traits. Half the time you’re not even meeting the person. You’re meeting the version of them they think will be safe to show. when you genuinely click with someone, it feels like a miracle not because you’re dramatic, but because your body knows the odds. It knows how many conversations you’ve had where you were translating yourself. How many times you laughed a second late. How many times you edited your excitement so you wouldn’t seem like too much. How many times you didn’t say what you meant because you didn’t trust the room to hold it. Then one day you say something stupidly specific, like a childhood memory nobody else cares about, and they don’t just listen - they light up. They understand the joke inside it. They catch the tone behind the words. They respond like they’ve been waiting for that exact frequency. That moment is fragile in a way people don’t respect. Because it’s not just “we get along.” It’s “my nervous system recognizes yours.” And you can lose it so easily. Not always through some dramatic betrayal. Sometimes just through timing. Distance. Life getting heavy. People getting scared. Someone’s depression turning them into fog. Someone’s ambition turning them into absence. One bad season where you stop choosing each other and start surviving side by side. It doesn’t take a villain. It just takes neglect, which is so much more common. That’s why connection is beautiful. Not because it’s poetic. Because THIS improbable
signüll@signulll

most people don’t realize how absurdly rare real connection is… how fragile, contingent, & wildly improbable it is to genuinely click with another human. this is actually what makes it quite beautiful.

Hey guys, please, this young man needs our help. He's currently battling oral cancer and is undergoing 6 cycles of chemotherapy. He was prescribed a chemotherapy regimen at N1.2m per cycle, but he couldn't afford it, so he chose a cheaper regimen at 500k per cycle. We all know that one stands a better chance of fighting off cancer on the best meds possible. The regimen that was initially revommended would amount to N7.2M. He will also need facial reconstructive surgery after all chemo cycles are completed. So far, the public has raised N4.2m for him. Please let's come together and lend him a solid hand in this fight 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 0054727887 Access Bank John Bassey.

Help save Toluwa's life Our hearts are heavy as we share the story of my younger sister Modurotoluwa Adefowoju, a bright, loving, and courageous 16 year old girl whose life has been turned upside down by acute leukemia. She was initially misdiagnosed in 2023 with JSLE (Junior Lupus) and spent over 13 months treating the wrong disease. Just a few months ago, Modurotoluwa was full of laughter, dreams, and plans for her future as a Cybersecurity expert. Today, she is fighting for her life. After weeks of tests and hospital stays, she was diagnosed with a severe form of blood cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, that requires urgent and intensive treatment. She has endured countless rounds of painful chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and long days in the hospital. Her doctors have now recommended that she undergo a bone marrow transplant the only hope for a lasting cure. Unfortunately, this life saving procedure is not available in Nigeria. Our family has been advised to continue treatment and proceed to India for advanced care and transplant. The total cost of treatment, travel, and recovery is estimated at $70,000 far beyond what our parents can afford. Through all of this, Modurotoluwa has remained incredibly brave. She smiles through the pain, prays for healing, and dreams of returning to school and living a normal life again. Please join us in this fight for Modurotoluwa's life. I said it and I’m saying it again that the “illusion of choice” and the lack of willingness to put in the work required with dealing with humans is a major problem in our approach to relationships and friendships in this our generation.
vuyi@justvuyi_

This vindicates a conversation I had with a friend, I said repair is difficult in the current dating pool bc we think have options beyond commitment. This applies to both platonic and romantic relationships. Everyone has a line up and you are one mistake away from being replaced.
