@IncomeSharks Same chart for months sounds clean, but markets that follow a script usually rewrite it when no one expects. How does the squiggle hold up when volume tells a different story?

@KAIZ3NS Hormuz disruption + Iran mining = supply shock. But markets still price oil like the strait opens next week - that gap is the trade.

Long oil here as it’s mispriced. The Strait of Hormuz won’t be reopening anytime soon. Iran is already bombing ships trying to get through. There have already been several incidents today. They are also laying mines in the strait and hitting oil refineries across the Gulf. Iran wants oil to go as high as possible to punish everyone globally. They’re calling for $150 to $200 per barrel. The IEA coordinating the release of 400M barrels from strategic reserves across 32 countries is actually incredibly bullish for oil. It shows they are already starting to feel the impact, and Iran knows higher oil prices are one of the most effective ways to inflict global economic pain. America doesn’t decide when this war is over. Iran does, and I don’t think it ends within the next two weeks. Oil will be back over $100 a barrel within a couple of days.

@quantum_ascend The real question is: what if the Fed never gets to step 3? Small banks may just get absorbed quietly, no panic, no backstop needed. No liquidity surge, no blow-off top, just a slow grind down.

Order of Operations: 1. Regional banks roll over / private credit problems emerge 2. Stress spreads in the financial system 3. The Fed steps in to backstop the system 4. Liquidity injections push risk assets higher 5. That surge marks the final blow-off top 6. The real crash follows
Henrik Zeberg@HenrikZeberg

MAJOR TOP IN FOR REGIONAL BANKS Now - this is where it begins to get interesting! Especially with the brewing problems with Private Credit. The Fed WILL try to backstop it.... which will send Risk Assets soaring - and then the Real Top will be in.

Is it just me, or is the Strait of Hormuz situation giving off major early-2020 COVID vibes? 🚩 The "everything is fine" official narrative feels eerily familiar just before the wheels fall off. Case in point: The US Energy Secretary says the reserve release will take “about 120 days to fully deliver.” That’s 4 months. We don’t have 4 months if the tap stays off Living in Oz, I’m looking at our 30-day fuel supply and thjinking: ⛽ How long until we see rationing at petrol stations? 🛒 When does the run on supermarket shelves and toilet paper actually start? (dont ask me why by Australians love going for toilet paper first) If the Strait stays closed for even a few more weeks, the "just-in-time" supply chain is cooked. We’ve seen this movie before, and we know how it ends for the folks at the bottom of the chain. Hopefully Im wrong. But the gap between the "official word" and the reality at the bowser is widening fast Im off to supermarket, pharmacist and petrol station, back later 😉

I don’t believe this is serious. it’s just a provocation aimed at the United States. However, this war is projecting Iran as a militarily capable nation that can manage armed conflicts with superpowers and still remain standing. This obviously fascinates not only the population in the Gulf, but also people across a whole series of nations that will now study the Iranian model in depth.

I’m shocked that Dubai Airport is still operating. So many people have already been hurt. Some had to die. The situation only seems to be getting worse. Dubai cannot keep allowing innocent people to become collateral damage. We've seen enough. The most logical step right now would be to shut down all flights in and out for at least a year and a half. British Airways and a few airlines did the responsible thing. Human lives should always matter more than business.

A drone has struck Dubai again. A residential building in the Creek Harbour area is on fire. Flames are visible from several floors. More explosions are going off in various parts of the city. People are terrified. Many are desperate to leave the city. Dubai Civil Defence is battling the fire as we speak. Residents are being evacuated. This is the right time to shut down Dubai Airport. No flights should be allowed into the city for at least a year and a half. Dubai is dangerous.
