The amount of Orthodox grift online right now is off the charts. Planners, self help books, movies, manly men classes, patreon subscriptions, substack sermons and on… The biggest winner from the supposed tidal wave of Orthodxy in America is the grifters. And there are a lot.

@frevagoras Multiple reputable news outlets report on the spike in converts and a publication ran by your own diocese bothered to write on it too (orthodoxobserver.org/conversion-cri…), so how can you say I am making this up?

@_xor271 Oka I’ll respond. There’s no solid, tangible proof of anything that you say. It’s all hyperbole and claims of grandeur. Prove it to me in some meaningful way or stop complaining.

@frevagoras Okay but the Orthodox people with a large following online literally tell people interested in the faith to go to Church or do you deny that too? If yes how do you explain the increasing numbers of converts reported by parishes all over the US?

Now I’m confused, OrthodoxKyle claims that “He [Mark of Ephesus] was the only Eastern Bishop to refuse to sign on the decrees of the council of Florence” But then he claims the next second that it’s a robber council. How? If all the western and eastern bishops signed the decree of Florence, then it’s an ecumenical council! Who cares if 1 bishop doesn’t sign the decree? Orthodox Kyle just admitted it’s an ecumenical council according to his world view but contradicts himself by saying it’s a robber council.

@frevagoras Why don't you specify which "grifters" you mean instead of making a passive aggressive generalization? If it's the people I think you are talking about then despite criticisms you might have, it's undeniable that countless of people entered the Church because of them.

@Elintiya1 @superxtianmario No, "eastern catholicism" includes many groups that were originally Orthodox bishops that later united with rome on different occasions, prominently the greek catholics of ukraine joined at the union of Brest in the 16th century under pressure by the polish king and jesuits.

No matter what @frjohnwhiteford and the rest of the Orthobros try to convince you of, see below that this is a very small sect of Orthodoxy in America that is being called out. Orthodoxy at whole is NOT under attack, and is in fact, respected by the United States.
