I can't be more excited that Aave V4 is finally live!!! Since March last year, starting from the @aave onsite, I have been working closely with the team @miguelmtzinf @imderl @_aniculae @_yan_ny_ @ cheyenne @CanonicalJP I can't begin to explain the process behind it to make it as secure as it can be. Late night conversations, weekend discussions, going over the same flows again and again, pushing every edge case and even the edge cases of the edge cases, all to get this right and make it as secure as possible for users. This level of care cannot be taken for granted. It comes from a team that truly cares about security and is not willing to compromise. There is real innovation here, and a real commitment to doing things the right way. I am proud to have been part of this. AAVE WILL WIN👻

I usually avoid tweeting about clients, to avoid any perception of bias, but I believe @aave is setting a standard for what thinking about security the right way looks like It is not just about how much you spend on audits, it is not about the number of audits you do, it is about how you think and integrate security as part of your product Some of the signals I have seen working with them: - Their engineers engage with security researchers, ask questions, and seek feedback. They are not "forced" to go through a security review, they actually want it - There is close to zero discussion about lowering severity on findings. Their engineers do not play the game of "how to make a report look good". I have even had the case where an engineer argued that a severity should be higher - They engage early in the development process and act on design recommendations. If your recommendations require refactoring that delays other activity, and they evaluate it is the right thing to do, they will do it - They did not make producing a report mandatory for me, which is a great sign that the value they seek is not in a PDF. It also tells me they look for skills, not marketing impact These are not the reasons they do it right, but outcomes that show they do it right. I believe the reasons come down to the company's culture: treating security as part of the product, not as "just another expense" If you are leading a team with a smaller budget, do not look at Aave’s approach as out of reach because you do not have the resources. Think about how you can strategically integrate security into planning. You have a lot of levers (ex: plan for a v1 with a small set of core features, add caps on liquidity, avoid extensive decentralization too early, etc.). Once you start thinking this way, you will realize you have more room to improve security than you might expect Kudos to @StaniKulechov, the Aave team, and all the security providers for the hard work

Aave V4 was built security-first, with layered security controls from early architecture through post-audit fix validation. We’ve published a full transparency report on the Aave V4 security program. Read it below.

Aave Labs proposes launching a dedicated Aave V4 bug bounty program on @sherlockdefi. The objective is to add an always-on security reporting channel for Aave V4, with a triage setup designed to reduce spam and route high-severity reports with high urgency.

A security-first culture is one of Aave’s strongest moats. Rather than launching products as soon as they’re ready, Aave Labs applies rigorous security-hardening processes to ensure the highest-quality outcomes. A big thank you to our smart contract team for all their hard work.

Aave v4 has undergone two audits so far that are now public. Zero HIGHs. Zero CRITICALs. Not a single one found. And I can assure you from what I’ve seen, the auditors involved are truly top-tier. This doesn’t happen by luck. @aave devs clearly know what they’re doing. 👏
