People often use sleeping as a minimal viable qualia but that makes no sense to me. During sleep I’m either non-dreaming where I don’t have any awareness or I’m dreaming where my qualia is way weirder and complex than my waking life. It’s nearly the opposite of minimal

Any theory of qualia has to encompass hard jhanas, a blank state of a single feeling (eg happiness) with no thoughts or decisions that you only realize you were aware during once it kicks you out and you have the thinking faculties to do so. Like the minimal viable qualia

@mikurubaeahina my favorite part when this happens to me is that often they aren’t even directly TSA, but third-party contractors who say “im just doing my job” when confronted :)
