@Girgias You are totally right, but in the example above wouldn't returning NULL as a stand-alone type break the API? if an implementer expected both User or NULL then they expect a user object or (NULL if the user doesn't exist) but what does NULL alone mean? correct me if I'm wrong

@nixcraft The saying "Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results" does not hold true in software development. Sometimes re-running the build twice actually works the second time around.
