Question for psychiatrists. Where in the depression treatment algorithm would you place psychedelics? Is this kind of like cannabis being roughly the 86th best treatment for glaucoma? It has a very mild effect but you would never actually prescribe it because there are so many better options. This is an honest question.

During the first airing of my Star Trek series where a kiss was objectionable; many southern stations pulled the episode & condemned the show. Using today’s vernacular it would absolutely be called“woke DEI crap”because it went against “norms” of society for its time. Not a lot seems to have changed.🤷🏼😑

Muslims have been in America since before the founding. Muslim Americans have fought in every major American war. They are doctors, teachers, veterans, and some of them are your constituents. The Constitution you swore to uphold explicitly protects their right to be here. First Amendment. Fourteenth Amendment. Article VI. The founders were so serious about religious pluralism they put it in the document multiple times. “Pluralism is a lie” is a remarkable thing for a sitting member of a pluralist democracy to say out loud. You were elected by the people of this country to represent them under a pluralist Constitution. If pluralism is a lie, so is your entire basis for holding office.

A Day 3 recap of the war (with focus on Iranian strategic narrative): 🔹CENTCOM confirms that U.S. strikes on Iranian missile bases used B-1 bombers. The U.S. is trying to dismantle Iran’s fortified underground missile facilities. 🔹Iranian reports suggest Tehran has rejected multiple mediation attempts. Tehran’s apparent assessment is that it can sustain high-intensity conflict for 60-90 days, making early ceasefire acceptance strategically disadvantageous. 🔹Ali Larijani explicitly framed the war as a contest of endurance, stating Iran – unlike the United States – is prepared for a prolonged conflict. The objective appears to be altering Washington’s cost-benefit calculations over time. 🔹Iranian strategic discourse increasingly describes the conflict as a “war without rules” or a “game without red lines,” signaling deliberate unpredictability intended to reshape deterrence dynamics after leadership decapitation failed to halt Iran’s response. 🔹A related concept emerging in Iranian messaging is operating “one level above” adversary actions, i.e., delivering escalatory responses even to indirect threats in order to redefine escalation thresholds. 🔹This logic appears reflected in Iranian strikes toward British facilities in Cyprus, interpreted domestically as retaliation for London allowing U.S. access to Diego Garcia despite not joining offensive operations. 🔹One of the most consequential developments was the loss of three U.S. F-15 aircraft, initially claimed by Iran as shootdowns but later attributed to friendly fire from Kuwaiti air defenses, highlighting the growing risks of coalition battlefield congestion. 🔹Analysts close to Iranian security circles describe a layered missile strategy: first targeting radar systems, then launching low-cost drones and missiles to exhaust air-defense interceptors before deploying advanced weapons later. 🔹Iran’s continuous missile launches therefore appear designed less for immediate damage and more for attritional depletion of U.S. and Israeli defensive systems over time. 🔹Uncertainty over the size and dispersal of Iran’s advanced missile stockpiles may explain intensified U.S. and Israeli strikes against underground facilities and missile infrastructure. 🔹President Pezeshkian expanded emergency authorities across ministries and provincial administrations to ensure continuity of governance, deepening wartime decentralization already initiated before the conflict. 🔹Israel’s targeting pattern has become clearer: strikes now heavily focus on intelligence ministries, police headquarters, IRGC district bases, and internal security institutions, suggesting systematic erosion of regime coercive capacity. 🔹Parallel strikes against western border regions and Kurdistan province have fueled Iranian fears that external actors may seek to enable insurgent infiltration as an alternative to direct ground invasion. 🔹Iran has responded by striking areas in Iraqi Kurdistan while increasing pressure along its borders, indicating concern about a potential indirect ground dimension to the war. 🔹Iran-aligned Iraqi resistance factions – including Kataib Hezbollah, Harakat al-Nujaba, and Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada – continue their operations on a limited scale, opening another attritional front against U.S. forces. 🔹Hezbollah formally confirmed its participation, firing rockets toward Haifa, though involvement remains limited due to degraded capabilities and domestic political constraints in Lebanon. 🔹Iranian sources claim prewar coordination between the Quds Force and regional partners defined phased entry into the conflict, suggesting activation of the “axis of resistance” is proceeding gradually rather than simultaneously. 🔹The IRGC has reportedly begun enforcing a de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz, warning commercial vessels against transit and threatening missile strikes. This is a major escalation targeting global energy flows. 🔹Simultaneous attacks on Gulf energy infrastructure, including an Aramco facility near Ras Tanura and gas infrastructure in Qatar, indicate an effort to raise global energy prices and increase economic pressure on Washington. 🔹Iranian authorities signaled zero tolerance for dissent. IRGC intelligence warned that actions undermining stability during wartime would be treated as collaboration with the enemy, implying harsh internal repression. 🔹Negotiation signals remain contradictory. While Trump suggested a potential deal was possible, Larijani publicly rejected negotiations, reinforcing Tehran’s view that talks can occur only after strategic calculations shift. 🔹Iran’s sustained missile tempo against Israel appears designed to impose psychological as well as military pressure, keeping populations under prolonged shelter conditions while conserving firepower for a longer conflict. 🔹Overall, Day 3 shows the war evolving into simultaneous military, economic, psychological, and regional escalation far beyond bilateral confrontation. 🔹The key question now is whether expanding proxy involvement and energy warfare will force external powers into deeper participation or instead accelerate pressure for negotiated containment. --- P.S: Not sure how long I can keep doing this!

@thefactsdude @CollinRugg Not sure if this is an ATC issue. The B-52 TCAS transponder was probably off which makes the job infinitely harder and out of the ordinary for ATC. Could be the same issue effectively as the helicopter crash in DC -- military not flying in civilian airspace correctly.

NEW: Delta pilot makes an "aggressive maneuver" to avoid colliding with a B-52 bomber above Minot, North Dakota. New audio footage captured by a passenger onboard the plane reveals what exactly happened, according to the pilot. "Given his speed ... I don't know how fast they were going, but they were a lot faster than us, I felt it was the safest thing to do to turn behind it," the pilot said. "So sorry about the aggressive maneuver, it caught me by surprise, this is not normal at all. I don't know why they didn't give us a heads up, because the Air Force base does have radar..." "Not a fun day at work."

The first thing to note about Trump's WSJ lawsuit is that he filed it federally in Florida. In almost every jurisdiction, filing a lawsuit federally helps you avoid the anti-SLAPP statute. But not in Florida.

If you’ve want to keep track of your health via blood tests bookmark this long ass tweet for reference 🩸 Between awful family health diagnoses and lingering postpartum symptoms, I’ve taken some serious steps re: health. My family hired a meal prep chef, I got a Full Body Prenuvo scan (more on that later), and now I’m setting up a comprehensive blood test for a baseline I’ll repeat bi-yearly. I’m doing it all outside of my primary care since I won’t have insurance in Texas till next month (at the earliest, the process has been a nightmare) and I need this done FAST. All of this has obviously been pricey but it’s amazing how quickly fear can change your priorities. (It helps to have family split meal prep..the chef comes 3x over 2 weeks. Much more economical with 4 ppl vs 1 or 2.) Okay back to blooood. 👇🏻 Knowing WHAT markers to look for when getting blood drawn is an intimating first step. I started with how I felt and ChatGPT helped me figure out what to track and a few other common ones. The next step was finding the right place and figuring out which tests to get done. It's freaking confusing. I wish these sites would let you just enter the markers you want and then give you the most efficient options for tests. It’s in-between LabCorp/Quest for the tests and LabTracker/HealthMatters/good ol excel spreadsheet for software to keep track longterm. Anyways let me know if you have anything to add, I’m new to this proactive vs reactive health thing but not new to needles and hospitals. This past year has been a nightmare lol C-Reactive Protein (CRP): Tracks: Inflammation in the body. What to Look For: Lower levels indicate less inflammation, which is associated with improved recovery, lower stress, and reduced risk of chronic diseases. Vitamin D Levels: Tracks: Immune function, bone health, and overall energy. What to Look For: Vitamin D within the normal range (40-60 ng/mL) shows proper nutrient absorption and is crucial for immune health and mood stability. Vitamin B12 and Folate: Tracks: Energy, brain function, and red blood cell health. What to Look For: Healthy levels ensure you’re supporting brain function, mood, and energy levels. Omega-3 Index: Tracks: Inflammation and heart health. What to Look For: A higher omega-3 index indicates a lower inflammatory profile, which is beneficial for heart health and overall recovery. HbA1c: Tracks: Blood sugar control over time, insulin sensitivity. What to Look For: Lower HbA1c indicates better blood sugar control and reduced risk of diabetes. Iron and Ferritin Levels: Tracks: Oxygen transport, energy, and red blood cell health. What to Look For: Healthy iron and ferritin levels indicate sufficient oxygenation of muscles and overall energy. Magnesium and Potassium: Tracks: Muscle function, electrolyte balance and brain function. Helps turn nutrients into energy at the cellular level. What to Look For: Normal levels indicate good muscle health, reduced cramps, and better recovery from workouts. Lipid Profile (Cholesterol and Triglycerides): Tracks: Cardiovascular health, risk of heart disease. What to Look For: Lower LDL (bad cholesterol), higher HDL (good cholesterol), and lower triglycerides. Liver Function Tracks: Liver health, detoxification ability. What to Look For: Normal ALT, AST, and bilirubin levels show that your liver is functioning well, which is important for metabolism and nutrient processing. Kidney Function Tracks: Kidney health and overall hydration. What to Look For: Healthy creatinine and BUN levels indicate good kidney function and proper hydration.
