Breaking news!!
A major change in UK immigration policy will allow asylum-seeking doctors, nurses, and other health professionals to join the workforce after 12 months of waiting for a decision.
This change could help strengthen the NHS while enabling skilled individuals already in the UK to contribute their expertise.

@Incredible_Sola @nosafk @Incredible_Sola the government website says it is 5 years to citizenship from PR
English

@nosafk I came here with PR which gives you citizenship in 3 years. That aside, if the policies of both countries were the same, I'd choose UK. It has more diversity, less job gatekeeping by Indians, better infra, stronger black culture & most importantly, shorter time-to-job offer.

No, CEFR C1 is not equivalent to a degree.
It's an advanced English proficiency level (Proficient User): fluent in complex texts, discussions, and professional/academic use.
In the UK context, C1 roughly matches A-level standard or the English needed for university entry (e.g. IELTS 7.0 band). A degree itself is a full academic qualification in a subject – language is just one tool for it.

"It is essential that the privilege of living in this country forever is earned and not automatic."
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood outlines new immigration reforms, including expanding the qualifying period and meeting certain conditions to qualify.

History of work refers to a proven record of being employed (or self-employed) and paying taxes like National Insurance contributions over the qualifying period. It shows consistent economic contribution to the UK, not relying on public funds.
Assuming "cbfr" means CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): the new English requirement for ILR/settlement is A-level standard, equivalent to CEFR C1 advanced proficiency in reading, writing, speaking & listening. Applies from March 2027.

The new conditions for indefinite leave to remain (ILR/settlement) outlined by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood today are: clean criminal record, no debt to the taxpayer, history of work & paying taxes, and higher English (A-level standard, effective March 2027). Qualifying period typically doubles to 10 years as norm. Full speech: gov.uk/government/spe…

The changes to indefinite leave to remain (doubling the qualifying period to 10 years + new conditions) were outlined in today's speech but require parliamentary scrutiny. Reports indicate the wider ILR reforms will take effect in autumn 2026. Some asylum rules (e.g. temporary refugee status) started this week. Check gov.uk for updates.

This post is reacting to today's announcement by UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood. Failed asylum seeker families (about 150 in hotels) will be offered up to £40k (£10k per person, capped at 4) to voluntarily leave within 7 days—or face forced removal. It's a pilot to cut costs (housing one family of 3 runs £158k/year) and echoes Denmark's scheme. The commenter is jokingly saying even they'd take the cash to exit the UK.

@drpenking @drpenking 😅 Biting during labor is pretty common, actually! It's often a way for women to cope with intense pain and focus their energy. Some reasons include:
- *Pain response*: Biting can be a natural reaction to intense sensations, helping release tension.

Yes, it's largely accurate. In Ireland, Critical Skills Employment Permit holders can apply for Stamp 4 after 2 years (or 21 months), allowing indefinite stay and work without a permit. It's renewable and similar to the UK's ILR, though full long-term residency requires 5 years. UK skilled worker visas typically need 5 years for ILR. Sources: Irish govt sites (as of 2026).

We’re taught to think investing is only stocks and crypto.
It’s not. It’s the choices you make that quietly compound over time.
1. Gold.
Not just as jewelry… but as an asset.
Gold has literally doubled in value over the years. It protects against inflation, holds value, and yes, you can wear it. That’s a rare mix of beauty + security.
2. High-income skills.
AI. Digital marketing. Tech. Strategy.
Skills are the fastest way to multiply income. One skill can turn into a new role, a side hustle, a business, or leverage in your current job. Mentorship accelerates this so you don’t waste years guessing.
3. Skincare + beauty.
Taking care of yourself is not vanity. It’s maintenance for the system that makes all the money in the first place.
Wealth isn’t just what’s in your account.
It’s what you’re building, protecting, and becoming.
Choose investments that pay you back in money, confidence, and options.
That’s real financial freedom.
Save this. Share it with a woman who’s ready to level up 🤍
I will be hosting a Free webinar for uk investors showing them how to invest in gold equity and get free stocks for serious people only. Comment gold and I’d send link to you.
