The Yorubas say, “if the rain doesn’t beat you and the sun doesn’t smite you, hunger will surely test you.” That sums up my story right now.
The airline I flew with yesterday didn’t deliver my bag, along with a few others. I couldn’t wait for the next flight to bring it, so I headed straight to the Super Eagles camp.
After checking into the hotel, I went straight for the first training session, under the rain. My shoes and everything I wore got soaked (yes, everything).
By night, they had dried up a bit, and thankfully, I got word that my bag will arrive in Uyo today. The only downside is it may not get here in time for the media parley, and all my equipment is inside.
It’s disappointing, but we move.
