TVL became one of the most important metrics in DeFi because those protocols were built around capital. The more assets deposited into a lending market or liquidity pool, the more activity the protocol could support. That logic does not always carry over to RWA. An operating business is not measured by how much capital sits inside it. It is measured by what that capital actually produces. That is one reason @EthraShip focuses on the shipping business itself rather than treating tokenized assets as the end goal. A dry bulk vessel creates value by securing cargo, completing voyages, and earning Time Charter Equivalent revenue. If a vessel sits idle, a high tokenized asset value does not suddenly make the business healthier. The same applies to any operating industry. Capital matters. But revenue, utilization, and operational performance matter even more. As RWA continues to grow, investors will probably need to look beyond TVL and start asking a different question. How efficiently is the underlying business actually creating value?
