As an indie producer, it's an honor to make this list. Huge thank you to the incredible women ranchers who shared their stories with me, and the great team @KBSX915 for getting this content out into the world. Check out Women's Work wherever you listen. theatlantic.com/culture/archiv…

One day left to pre-order your copy of The Little Black Mustang and help us make our kickstarter goal! This book would make a beautiful gift for the holidays. Thanks for your support, friends! kickstarter.com/projects/littl…

To avoid straining your eyes at work, use the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, go for a 20-minute hike and spend the next 20 years in the woods.

The only thing more magical than watching 42 sage grouse do their mating dance is sharing the experience with others. Great tour in the Owyhees with @erbenson1 and @MOrtegaWelch #SEJ2023

@ElizaAronson Oh my gosh you are hilarious. Please share one of your recent talking horse vids! I am sure Boo would oblige. He has a lot of opinions about things.

I keep seeing tik toks where people are narrating vids from their horse’s pov in this silly cartoon voice and it’s so amazing and it would bring me so much joy to see @aahearn make a vid with her mustangs

@jkhawes Hey thanks, Jake. Writing that whole series helped me work through a lot of ecological grief - but the ending, most of all.

@aahearn @KBSX915 Women’s Work was incredible! Finding your podcasts has made me feel reconnected to my Eastern Oregon ranching roots. Thanks for the hard work and the focus on rural life in the West and it’s nuances.

@thatsMohrlikeit Interesting. I guess I read Maddy’s piece to be highlighting what urban and rural women share, even though they may define their feminism differently. How’s that review of Women’s Work coming? Some good food for thought here 😉

@aahearn I like a lot about this piece! But why do we have to, in the process of raising up some women, put down others who *are* activists/define themselves as feminists? Feels like society is always pitting women against each other. 😒

"These women are the most feminist of feminists. But don’t call them that. They might be soft-spoken, but they are not soft. They are active, but not activists. In this era of anger and outrage, we could all learn something from them." washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/…
