Today, we held a successful RTI Training workshop for legal professionals, organized by @ICOMaldives, @MvBarCouncil, @Law_Democracy & @TransparencyMV. CLD’s @TobyMendel led the training, covering RTI standards, Maldivian legal framework, and lawyers' roles in supporting #RTI

As part of this transformation, we will be phasing out the use of the acronym ICOM and shifting to ICO. #ICOmv

އެއަށް ފަހު ދެން އެންމެ ގިނައީ ކައުންސިލަތަކަށާއި ސަރުކާރު ހިއްސާވާ ކުންފުނިތަކަށް ހުށަހަޅާފައިވާ ހުށަހެޅުން. ކައުންސިލްތަކަށް 297 ހުށަހެޅުން ހުށަހަޅާފައިވާއިރު، ސަރުކާރު ހިއްސާވާ ކުންފުނިތަކަށް 280 ހުށަހެޅުން ހުށަހަޅާފައިވޭ

ޕޯޓަލް މެދުވެރިކޮށް 2024 ގައި އެންމެ ގިނައިން ހުށަހެޅުން ހުށަހަޅާފައިވަނީ ވެރިކަން ހިންގާ ފަރާތަށް. މިއީ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ އޮފީހާއި، މިނިސްޓްރީތަކާއި، މިނިސްޓްރީތަކުގެ ދަށުން ހިންގާ އިދާރާތަށް. ޕޯޓަލްގެ 2024 ގެ ޖުމްލަ ހުށަހެޅުންތަކުގެ %61 ހުށަހަޅާފައިވަނީ މި އިދާރާތަކަށް

މައުލޫމާތު ހޯދުމަށް އެދި މިދަޔަ އަހަރު މަހޯލި ޕޯޓަލް މެދުވެރިކޮށް ދައުލަތުގެ އިދާރާތަކަށް 2610 ހުށަހެޅުން ހުށަހަޅާފައިވޭ. މިއީ 2023 ގައި ހުށަހަޅާފައިވާ ހުށަހެޅުންތަކަށް ވުރެ ގާތްގަޑަކަށް ދެ ގުނަ އިތުރު އަދަދެއް. 2023 ގައި ހުށަހަޅާފައިވަނީ ޖުމްލަ 1321 ހުށަހެޅުން.

- highest number of RTI requests through the Portal in the first quarter was submitted to @presidencymv (69 requests). By the end of the 1st quarter, PO had not accepted 42 (more than 60%) of these requests.

- more than 12% of all RTI requests submitted through the Portal has been appealed to ICOM so far. This may increase in the coming days. - 64% of requests were submitted to Authorities in the Executive branch. 12% to Councils, 7% to Statutory Bodies.

2024 first quarter stats: - @icom_mv received 139 cases during the first 3 months of 2024. This is a 58% increase from the same period last year - almost 90% of cases submitted to ICOM during this period were complaints of public authorities not responding at all to RTI requests

2023 saw the number of RTI appeals/complaints submitted to @icom_mv surpass the 10,000 mark. The 10,000th case was submitted in August 2023 by @AimonLatheef against the then Ministry of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment.
