@aardbei That third one is important, however. PayPal has had a history of locking people's accounts seemingly random, and demonetizes people who offer LGBT education.
They also demonetize some transphobes; OTOH, their fascist owner Peter Thiel is one as well 🤷♂️

Hi webshops! If you haven't added decent payment methods, I won't buy from you today, no matter how much discount you offer. #blackfriday2022#blackfridaysale
Credit cards suck, and so does PayPal. Still not supporting it. 👎
@stonehead Expensive for whom? And these days there is a requirement for strong authentication via PSD2 in Europe. So that leaves surveillance (true, but also holds for banks), and reissue (not so much of a problem I’d say). Third bullet seems a bit subjective 😉
@aardbei - One database leak and everyone has to get new cards again
- Because the authentication is so weak, lots of surveillance is necessary, making customers even more dependable on an expensive, fundamentally broken system
- Credit card companies have a near monopoly, hate the poor
I just ran into a problem with jackson-core. Took a day to understand and fix.
I once wrote my own JSON (de)serializer, which took just one evening and is 340 times smaller than jackson-core.
Does anybody want to know why I wrote my own solution?🤪

I am aware of quite a few companies offering legal data protection advice. But I’d love to get pointers to companies offering technical advice on privacy by design / privacy engineering. Please share your information here (or email or..) and I’ll summarise!

And if you want a sneak peek of the sneak peek.... that's also possible! We will share the zoom link here, which allows you to take a look at the setting & assignments without actually joining the pre-battle! 🐱👤
@bvgastel@SolarEdgePV Are you talking about the cloud api or a local interface? (I have @SolarEdgePV as well, and am running my monitoring via the cloud but was considering to move it local, you know, for privacy and security reasons...) I can't seem to find an announcement for this?
Reading out stats from a device I own, is not a security issue (I'm not talking adjustments). Plus there should be an option to re-enable this functionality. This is not okay, to change the behavior of a device I own. @SolarEdgePV should fix this. 2/2
Closed source firmware. I have solar panels and an inverter from SolarEdge. They used to have a public API available so you can read out the stats. I have built a monitoring interface around. Auto update, they have removed it 'due to security reasons'. 1/2
