Benet bets Curie 74-41 to advance to tonight's title game at Pontiac against DePaul Prep. Jayden Wright led the Redwings with 23 points. He was a very good player last year but this season he's improved as much as anyone in the entire area. A true star lead guard.

I can confidently say since at least the Kellen Clemens days, I've seen numerous QB2's at Oregon get thrown into the game for an injured starter and none of them ever looked nearly as polished and poised as Brock Thomas did the last 2 games he's gone in, and that's in sideways monsoon rain to boot. Had Brock Thomas gone in for Dennis Dixon in 2007, we wouldn't have lost our last 3 games, that's for certain.

Dan Lanning got a bit testy postgame when asked about the backup QB situation as some fans are worried seeing a walk on playing instead of the Ducks highly touted recruits: "They should go to our locker room and see them carry Brock Thomas up in the locker room after the game... People should stop worrying about it and they should also know that those other QBs are doing a really good job in practice too, but Brock's playing well guys. Watch the film."
