@robinsonishyde As someone who has produced 7 features, I don’t possibly know how he’d only get paid $5K on a $1.5M budget unless that was his choice? Not that he’d be getting rich on that budget, but $5K is what you make on like, a $100K budget.

As someone who makes film budgets for indie films as a living. Y’all have no idea how little some of these folks are getting paid.

@JReubenCIark No way. We were together 6 years, got married a year later, have now been together 18 and waiting was one of the best decisions we made (we now see as 1/3 of our friends are unhappy or divorced).

"We've been dating for 5 years. We got engaged last year, and our wedding is scheduled for next year." Do people not know how insane this sounds?

Finger on the cultural button as always but I finished Stranger Things which was fine but somewhat marred by several awful performances and this kid spending the entire season looking like a rent boy with herpes.

So glad that I finally got to talk about one of my all time favourite sports films, John Frankenheimer’s epic, Oscar winning F1 drama, Grand Prix (1966) with my good friend @Stevoo7.

Recently I've thought a lot about branding. As much as it annoys me, I do think it's important. As an actor, my north stars have always been the great every man leading man. Hackman, Mattheau, Duvall, Oldman.. As a writer and filmmaker, I'm drawn to a similar space. Flyover state stories, blue collar underdogs, etc. It hit me today what I think my "thing" is, all around. Seemingly ordinary people put in extraordinary situations. The Crossing Over Express is about a down on his luck guy who suddenly gets put in the back of a truck where he gets two minutes with someone he lost. My next one, Goodbye, Monster, is about a normal 11 year old who has the not so normal situation of a literal creature under his bed being his best friend. Even Your Lucky Day, which I got to produce, is about a guy at rock bottom who suddenly sees someone win the lottery and decides he needs that ticket. I like these stories. I hope I get to tell a lot more, in front of and behind the camera.

These days, I’ve been thinking a lot about Lynne Ramsay’s masterful YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE, in which Joaquin Phoenix rescues a child from the sex traffickers that kidnapped her and beats up & kills several disgusting & despicable men in the process. A+ movie. A 2017 favorite.

Today, our tiny micro-budget feature just got released on every major platform. It was shot in 12 days with a skeleton crew. No camera team, other an awesome 1st AC. No lighting, except for a single LED panel or tube light used to key some closeups. No casting director, despite us landing some of the best actors I’ve worked with to date. No script supervisor, but we still shot up to 14 pages in a single day. You don’t need every resource to make your film, you just need to be resourceful with what little you do have. Really hope you all enjoy it.
