Khaled Abu Toameh, an Israeli-Arab journalist, was asked about "Israeli apartheid":
"If Israel were an apartheid state, I, for example, would not be allowed to work for a Jewish newspaper or live in a Jewish neighborhood or own a home. The real apartheid is in Lebanon, where there is a law that bans Palestinians from working in over 50 professions. Can you imagine if the Knesset passed a law banning Arabs from working even in one profession? The law of Israel does not distinguish between a Jew and an Arab."

In retrospect, it’s easy to why a team so quick to reject Dan Campbell would also move on from Baker Mayfield. Numbers on the spreadsheet were valued over intangibles.
The DePodestas of the sport will never understand the Mayfields.

Anyone who claims a product or service is a “right” is saying something far darker than they admit. If you have a right to a doctor’s time, a farmer’s crops, a builder’s labor, or a programmer’s work, then by consequence the people who produce those things exist to serve you. Their effort becomes an obligation. Their time becomes a duty. Their life becomes a means to your ends.
You cannot have a “right” to something that must be created by someone else unless you believe the creator belongs to you. Rights protect freedom. They don’t impose labor. The moment you declare another person’s work to be your entitlement, you have already crossed the line. You have said, whether you realize it or not, that the producer is your property.

Argentine President Javier Milei writes about the anniversary of the Berlin Wall falling:
“On a day like today, but in 1989, the sinister Berlin Wall fell, and with it the lie of real socialism.
In its fall, the failure of the socialist utopia was laid bare, whose most important lesson is that well-being and justice are two sides of the same coin.
Therefore, nothing that arises from despicable values such as envy, hatred, resentment, the stripping of freedom, injustice, and murder (the underlying base of values in every socialist experiment) will end well. It will only bring misery and violence in its wake.
For that reason, embracing the ideas of freedom and the values of the West (Judeo-Christian culture), well-being will come as an added bonus, hand in hand with spontaneous order and the creativity of individuals
Long live freedom!”

The Right doesn't stick together. That's our biggest problem by far. Conservatives are quick to denounce each other, jump on dogpiles, disavow, attack their allies. I said a few weeks ago that we all need to band together in the wake of Charlie's death and the answer I got back from a lot of people on the Right was, basically, no. Well okay then, guys. We'll just lose instead. The Left will keep up the united front and defend their guys no matter what while we keep throwing each other to the wolves at every opportunity. Great plan.
