The good news is that Bailey Ober got through 4.0 IP allowing just one run on 2 hits today for the Twins. The stuff still doesn't work though. He topped at 89.9 mph on his 4th pitch of the game. By the 3rd inning he was down to 87 mph and he threw an 86.7 mph fastball in the 4th inning.

The more I think about Joe Ryan joining Team USA, the more I hate it for the Twins.
He was scratched to start the spring. In his only Grapefruit League start, he was down 2 mph. If he pitches in the WBC, it will be a week since his last appearance.
Minnesota is already without Pablo. Now you're going to let your other top arm pitch on abnormal rest, after showing signs for concern, or he may not throw at all and loses more time prior to Opening Day.

@tlschwerz I get what you're saying, but the Twins absolutely could not justify spending at Dodger levels for more then a VERY short period of time. The amount of revenue they generate is not even comparable to what we generate. Ee should be able to spend more, just not 300-400 mil.

The Twins could absolutely spend as much as the Dodgers if they wanted too.
The Pohlad's are terrible business owners, and would never do that.
Given the Minnesota revenue streams, they'd lose money spending at the Dodgers threshold, but they could absolutely pony up the funds.
Spending at the threshold they will this year, and have since 2024, is laughable.
