.@bethny: “Energy has become flat‑out unaffordable for too many NYers, & the state must step up with real, overdue reforms. By adopting these essential policies, NY can deliver meaningful relief to struggling households & overhaul a rate‑making system that has failed consumers."

New Yorkers are being crushed by soaring utility bills. Our seven policy priorities would bring immediate relief and help fix the broken system driving costs up.

@kristenmcmanus @NewYorkStateAG Surveillance pricing uses personal data to set individualized prices for consumers. They cannot comparison shop & determine if a price is fair.😠 🎯It unfairly targets: •Older NYers •People on fixed incomes •Rural residents •Anyone who depends on online shopping (2/3)

“Affordability means being able to grow older in the city and community you helped build.” @BethNY. The City budget must reflect that reality – ensuring New Yorkers can live with dignity, independence, and stability in our communities.

NYC’s older population grew 34% in the past decade and older adult poverty rose nearly 50%. Services haven’t kept pace. The #AgeStrongNY agenda calls for investments in nutrition programs, Older Adult Centers, affordable housing & family caregiver support.

New Yorkers can’t afford to wait—and neither can the budget. Older adults are also among the state’s most reliable voters. Candidates who want to lead must speak directly to their priorities.

New York has a $260 billion budget. So why are older adults still languishing in their homes, reusing adult diapers, & going days without home‑delivered meals? The #AARPNY + @cityandstateny forum made one thing clear: the Master Plan for Aging must move from paper to action.
