Let’s talk about how high maintenance friends are insensitive, self centered and unrealistic in their expectations. I’ve always considered myself a low maintenance friend. Only thing I expect out of you is loyalty and just to be yourself, whatever that looks like. I’m not gonna crucify you because you didn’t call me at 3:16PM on a Thursday on the dot. High maintenance friends have a fairy tale idea of what the everyone around them should be doing, instead of letting ppl live their life and worrying about their self. To me, it stems from not wanting to look inward and needed to find other things to distract themself from being okay with their self. They use outside sources like friendship to validate that they aren’t invisible or that they matter.
