TVET Stipend Payment Ongoing: FG Starts Cash Transfers Across Nigeria The Federal Government has begun disbursing ₦75,000 cash support in three phases to vulnerable households nationwide under the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer programme. Each beneficiary is expected to receive ₦25,000 monthly for 3 months, aimed at easing the impact of rising living costs. So far, over 9 million households have received the first payment, as the government targets 15 million households across Nigeria. This is Professor Abdallah Uba Adamu, a native of Kano, made history as very few Nigerians to become a Professor twice in two different disciplines. At Bayero University, Kano, he was promoted as the first Professor of Science Education in 1997, and later as the first Professor of Media and Cultural Communication in 2012. He remains the only person in the North to achieve this rare feat. Beyond teaching and research, he is well-known for his work on Hausa language, history, culture, films and the impact of social media. In the 1990s, he pioneered the digital representation of Hausa special characters (ɓ, Ɓ, ɗ, Ɗ, ƙ, Ƙ) on computers. He served as Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (2016–2021), introducing reforms in distance learning. Despite such remarkable achievements, Professor Adamu is admired as a humorous, approachable figure, and a popular presence on social media, especially Facebook.
