Caleb replied that he had given them commissioner positions. The President then asked, “What is a commissioner?” implying that it is not a significant position. He then said that when the governor returns, he should reorganize his government to include everyone—both Christians and Muslims—and give each group proper representation. Furthermore, regarding Sheikh Jingir’s complaint that Muslims are being labeled as non-indigenes, the President immediately said that the issue of “non-indigene” in Plateau should be abolished.
