Christians often forget that this life is not the ultimate goal—we are being molded for eternity with God. So when the Bible says a woman should submit to her husband, it’s not about power or status. Her obedience becomes one of the means through which she is being conformed to the image of Christ. One of the consequences of the fall, as the Bible puts it, is this: “You will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you” (Gen 3:16 NLT). When Paul teaches about submission, he’s addressing this very dynamic. In choosing to submit to her husband, a woman mirrors Christ—who, though equal with the Father, chose to submit to His will. It’s a picture of Christlike humility and obedience. When we frame this solely as a power struggle, we miss the deeper point: the Holy Spirit is at work, undoing the curse of sin and self. For women, that may manifest particularly in the impulse to control their husbands. But the greater work is sanctification—not control. This is about transformation, not domination. Here’s a rough analogy: women are especially vulnerable when they love a man—through the risks of childbirth, or the pain of being abandoned or betrayed. Human wisdom says that to protect herself, she must gain certainty and control. But that control can breed conflict. Worse, if she succeeds in gaining it, she may lose respect for him, as he’s no longer leading her the way Christ leads the church. It also affects her ability to submit to Christ—and her sanctification suffers. By submitting to her husband, she is not just obeying a command; she is being transformed. Her fears are being reshaped into trust. Earthly submission becomes a preparation for eternal worship—a training ground. Marriage is her nursery. Likewise, husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church. That means sacrifice, self-giving, and service. In doing so, a man learns to lay down his life—because eternity is about giving ourselves fully for the good of others. Marriage, for both man and woman, becomes a tool the Spirit uses to conform us into the image of the Son—whose righteousness we bear and whose inheritance we share. When we focus on that verse alone without the full context of the biblical story —God working throughout history to restore human beings unto Himself, we will miss the grandness and beauty of that command.

💢 Israel unleashes 110+ airstrikes across southern Lebanon and western Bekaa on eve of Eid Airstrikes hit over 20 towns and villages in south Lebanon and the western Bekaa in just hours Tuesday, journalist Hala Jaber reported, alongside relentless artillery shelling. Entire residential blocks were flattened, including in Bourj al-Shamali, the Palestinian refugee camp on the outskirts of Tyre in southern Lebanon, with a child pulled bloodied from the rubble.

Imagine this. In just hours, Israel has unleashed more than 110 airstrikes across over 20 towns &villages in south Lebanon & the Western Bekaa, alongside relentless artillery shelling. Entire residential blocks flattened. Families buried alive. Children pulled bloodied from rubble. Rescue workers ordered to halt searches while survivors are reportedly still trapped underneath collapsed homes. And all this unfolding on the eve of Eid al-Adha. There is nothing “limited” or “defensive” about these strikes. We are witnessing collective devastation unleashed by a depraved entity at full force & with full impunity.

Moments ago, the Israeli occupation bombed the Al-Rimal neighborhood in Gaza while it was packed with families shopping for Eid Al-Adha. This is a developing story, and the death toll and injury count are both still rising.

In a sea of repeated ceasefire violations by Israel against Gaza, it remains important to note that Israel signed a ceasefire deal with *Hamas* yet continues to openly assassinate and attempts to assassinate Hamas officials and commanders, in addition to killing civilians daily.

Pope Leo XIV: I hear very troubling accounts of algorithms that can block access to healthcare, employment, and security on the basis of data tainted by prejudice. I've heard the silence of those who have no voice when decisions likely to generate new forms of suffering are made. Nuclear disarmament remains a service to peace. In a similar sense, AI now demands to be disarmed, freed from logics that turned it into an instrument of domination, exclusion, and death.

I listened to this clip. To be honest, I do not even know what else to say about this man. You are not an outsider as far as Nigerian politics is concerned. As a two-term Governor, you cannot keep talking about governance in abstract terms as though you have never held an executive office before. And this constant “Northern Nigeria” rhetoric every single day is also exhausting. What lasting impact did you leave in the agricultural sector during your eight years as Governor? For someone whose entire business model was built around importation, he makes an awful lot of noise about moving Nigeria from consumption to production. Yet, whenever he is asked how he intends to achieve that, he starts stammering. The other time Seun of Channels asked him how he would improve exportation, he was completely clueless. But this is the same person who wants to transform Nigeria. Just wrap it up, bro 🤦

Today, among the goods that are universally intended for everyone, we must also include new forms of property, such as patents, algorithms, digital platforms, technological infrastructure and data. In a context where the wealth of nations depends increasingly on knowledge and technology, when these goods remain concentrated in the hands of a few, without adequate forms of sharing and access, a new imbalance is created that contradicts the universal destination of goods. In turn, it widens the gap between the included and the excluded, between those who can participate in the digital revolution and those who remain on the margins. #MagnificaHumanitas

I don’t appreciate being responded for, certain distractions should be ignored. I appreciate less when the attempt to explain me comes purely from pure or impure projections, so I’ll do it, this once: You don’t know me. You don’t know the experiences that brought me here and you certainly don’t know my motivations in politics but I’ll sum it up like this: Atiku left PDP in 2015 and I stayed and supported Jonathan. If Atiku leaves ADC today, we will part ways politically. Most importantly though: if Atiku tells me not to speak anymore about those who betrayed the coalition, I’ll resign officially and continue supporting him wholeheartedly as the best chance to kick Tinubu out. The human brain conserves energy by putting people in quick and easy categories to facilitate memory recall but you need to stretch it to see what makes each individual different. Atiku’s children are made for life, their surname guarantees it by the man’s achievements. I am literally fighting for my name and future in Nigeria and I will try to do it respectfully but with zero fears of losing imaginary internet friends. Even better to actually block each other so we can preserve a future chance for true friendship or alliance without being presently provoked.
Nwammuo 👻@W_rainaike

You shouldn't blame Demola. He has invested a lot of hopes in the prospect of Atiku being president, and they believed PO being a vice on that ticket is the only guarantee to actualizing that dream. PO left ADC and all their hopes came crashing. You will take up arms against PO and Obidients too if it were you.

I believe people should have enough integrity to stand by what they preach. Permanent friends is irrelevant, there should be a moral core to politics that we should never ignore, doing so will only eat away at the credibility of our society.
Joshua Bangi@JoBangis

Politics has no permanent enemies or friends, only permanent interests. If Pantami could leave APC for PDP after years of attacking Jonathan and the party, then raising Jonathan’s hand tomorrow for political survival would not surprise many Nigerians.
