Today was my last away day with the full BBC News social team before I go on maternity. The most creative, professional and caring bunch of people. Potentially the youngest team in the whole of the BBC and we are smashing it. Very much hoping to be back next year ✨🫶

Today is always really poignant for me. I grew up on RAF bases, both my parents served and my granddad was nearly killed when his Navy ship was hit by a kamikaze pilot. It makes me so proud to see Granddad Ken's name among the other hundreds of others.
