if not anything else, the only reason every one should experience moving out and living by yourself is to understand that nothing will ever go right. your landlord will suck or your bed won’t get delivered or your maid won’t show up or your light might go out. there is no way to become okay with these things going wrong and working with it, without actually going through it. people say it might make you distant from your parents but from my experience, it only makes you appreciate them even more for fixing things on the go, figuring out everything for the first time and still making you feel like they always had everything figured out.

Kimi K2.6 makes Sonnet and Haiku totally dead in the water. It can do 85-90% of the tasks I entrust Opus with as well. Connect some search MCPs (Parallel/Exa/Perplexity) and it beats Opus at way less cost, even including the search API costs. Totally stopped using Opus now.

@Priyansh_31Dec Think about it this way: How much portion of your networth would you objectively invest in the company’s stock if you had all that money in cash?

After you work in Big tech for a long time, a major portion of your networth gets tied to RSUs and the company's performance. It is all great as long as the company performs well (or at least the world thinks the company is performing well). I have seen cases where the stock price of some companies has gone down by 20% within a year, and it would be incredibly demotivating to be in that situation when your networth shrinks by multiple lakhs or a few crores in a few weeks or months. What are some best practices here that people actually use? Is it to just sell any newly vested stocks once the RSUs start taking up a major % of your portfolio?

@kuberwastaken Why not just use 4.6? I’d say marginal benefits (if any) in day 2 day tasks vs significant cost increase

why's it so hard to convince Opus 4.7 to do anything now - it just refuses to do tasks in most harnesses

It’s crazy to see that no matter how incredible a technology you create, it all ends up in ads. A dystopian direction for ChatGPT (and AI in general). Hyper-consumerism and capitalism hollow it out until it feels less like progress and more like we’re rats in a giant experiment

Chad IDE (@cladlabs) is the brainrot code editor. AI coding takes 1–5 min between prompts—too long to ignore, too short to start something new.  Chad integrates your brainrot (X, IG, Stake, Tinder, etc) into your agentic coding workflow and helps to manage your context-switching. Less doom-scrolling. More shipping.

a strightforward no bs take on a post AGI world (big IF) amid all the fear mongering ai slop (the irony😂) on the internet
RKing@ryanssking1

Idiotic take. Falling for a fixed jobs fallacy is economic illiteracy. “Who will eat the food, the tractors?” UBI won’t be needed. It’s a misunderstanding of demands and consumer psychology. When the marginal cost of supply falls, owners of excess can nearly give it away for something. Could be a stone ground flour yippie croissant or extra dance lessons for your ten year old. This is before factoring in collective pressure, lowering barrier to entry, the commodification of supply chain. Supply requiring less and less labor results in the value of what automation produces falling. This is exactly what tractors did to food. We need to understand that “jobs” are a proxy for “I have excess of something I want less than what I can get in exchange.” Time is the primary thing people are willing to trade. If they have insane supply of Barbie dolls they don’t value having excess of, and it required little time to produce, they can easily trade it with low risk. What this does is make the value of time go up. Artist becomes a living wage, instead of “starving.” Don’t believe this? Check the price of Taylor Swift concert tickets. Believing the government needs to step in and reallocate is the same dumbass thinking the progressives had more than a century ago. They tried, caused the Great Depression like idiots. Just because you can’t see what people will demand, doesn’t mean there will be zero demand for human time, and require UBI. If we could predict these demands we’d all invest and become rich. But the market is organic and the future is murky. Don’t fall for the fixed pie fallacy.

@archiexzzz Agreed. But wouldn't that always be an active goal? To live a life you don't need to escape from and if that's not the case, change the aspects which make you feel that way
