What I am saying is Rohit can fit anywhere opening as well as middle order. And there r many wicket keepers better than Dhoni in IPL. Like samson,QDK,DK

@raphael_zeon @Sportskeeda Who is talking about opener. Rohit can fit at no 4/5 as well. He has played many match winning knocks in that position. So he can be the captain playing at no 4/5. He might not be a great IPL opener but he will always be one of the best Indian openers in white ball cricket

@abdullahkunda @Sportskeeda I don't need to watch any match as I already know his record. Rohit doesn't even feature in the top 10 IPL batsmen. There are far better openers than him in the IPL. Wouldn't want to waste an opener slot just because he is a very good captain.

@raphael_zeon @Sportskeeda Rohit was a great finisher in the IPL when he used to bat at 4. He has single handedly won many matches for Deccan charges and Mumbai. Go and watch those matches and the Reason why dhoni's average is 38 is bcos he used to come at last overs and remain not out.

@MohammadKaif Yeah but I think hardik doesn't wants his inputs. Haven't seen him listening to Rohit sharma on the field, Specially in 2024 season. And he was sending Rohit on the boundary line as well in that season. Hardik should respect the most successful IPL captain.

Mumbai Indians should fully utilise the fitter and leaner Rohit Sharma. He can't be just an impact player, MI will need him in crunch situations. Also his inputs to captain Hardik Pandya will be precious. Last year in Qualifier 2 against Kings XI, when Shreyas Iyer was hitting, Hardik needed Rohit next to him. Full involvement in game will help Rohit the batter too.
