The Canadian Human Rights Tribunal wants answers. It has ordered Canada and chiefs to submit plans to end discrimination against First Nations children in care. The plans differ sharply. What happens next, tonight on Nation to Nation.

As each day passes, Canadians, including First Nations, are realizing “Elbows up” from the PM is a Sham. Chief Mercredi to the PM today: “I was hoping to hear what the crisis is for Canada, I didn’t hear that … (regarding 🇨🇦 🇺🇸 relations) … and “you want us to give you a leap of faith to support you on legislation that’s causing Fear for us” … The government needs a new strategy based on Treaty regional engagement.

Advocates are warning that cutting billions of dollars from the federal Indigenous services budget, as the Carney government intends to do, could worsen the quality of essential programs and may spark lawsuits that would cost more money in the long term. cbc.ca/news/indigenou…

Many Indigenous peoples are wondering if there will be an Indigenous person or people in Prime Minister @MarkJCarney 45th Federal Cabinet. There hasn't been a First Nations person in cabinet since 2019. Indigenous people have been represented solely by (Métis) Minister Daniel Vandal (St. Boniface--St. Vital, MB) since 2019, when he retired; we won't see his face around the cabinet table anymore. cc: @marcomendicino #45thcabinet #45thhouseofcommons #indigenous #firstnation #metis #ministers #cabinetdecisions

The Caring Society filed hundreds of pages of evidence including letters/docs from First Nations, First Nations organizations, professionals, service providers, families and Canada’s own documents and witness testimony. AFN had no letters supporting its positions.
