Whoop just scammed its most loyal users. They launched Lifespan — a 5.0-only feature — and made it sound like a revolutionary health metric. But here’s the truth: There’s nothing new in the data. Lifespan can be built from the same metrics 4.0 already collects (strain, recovery, sleep, etc.). This isn’t innovation. It’s a paywalled repackaging designed to sell new hardware. And the worst part? Whoop is already on a subscription model. We’re paying every month — yet still being forced to upgrade hardware just to unlock software features that could easily work on our current devices. I’ve cancelled my subscription. And I urge others to do the same. This isn’t how you treat a loyal community. It’s not just disappointing — it’s a scam. They had something great, and then ruined it in the name of profit.
