@ShivamVahia you said hopeless plot. Anyone who lived through that era and has some knowledge knows the plot was brilliant and reflected the reality of that time - the blasts, the system working badly. And the twist was absolutely unbelievable - on par with any other movie ever made.

@abhijitmk Notice how I gave it a very subtle compliment, good movie. Now compare to how I've treated every movie, without using specific brackets. It was a genuine compliment. Don't get me wrong.

A few couple thoughts on Dhurandhar series: This constant clamoring that Gen Z has the attention span of a goldfish is actually untrue. Attention span is there, stimulating content or means of communication is lacking. They're tired of watching Bollywood shit, hence you'll see higher and consistent acceptance of not just Hollywood, but also regional language films. On the music side, Gen Z has platformed and encouraged way more new artists in a plethora of sub-genres, independently. My entire circle avoids Indian films generally, but surprisingly each one of them watched D2 within the first week of release in Australia, US, Canada etc. These are people who rarely even visit cinemas anymore. Also, D1 + D2 worked so well because it finally helped all of us across generations get an anti-dote for our defeatist psyche. Rampant poverty/scarcity + terrorism had almost permanently hurt us in ways we could never describe. Every time we looked at Hollywood war/spy movies, there would be this disappointment in our heads that we Indians can neither create such narratives, nor can we expect our state to grow a pair. In fact, we got movies like A Wednesday (good movie, but hopeless plot that basically told the common man -- ja lukhhe, khud kar le fight, don't expect the state to defend or get you justice). Or movies that rubbed salt on our wounds like Mumbai Meri Jaan. Even Madras Cafe was ultimately a reality check. We're finally getting to come out of that depression and scream with joy in the theatre -- BMKJ! All of us have some patriotism in us, but we were always embarrassed to show it -- firstly because of this century's trauma, secondly because we were forced fed by the Left that patriotism is lower-class dehati display of ones love for our belonging. That saluting the flag or standing up for the anthem should be only reserved for two days in a year. The wars we've fought over the decades have all received their balance of tributes and inspiration via movies -- Border 1, LOC Kargil, Lakshya etc. But those were conflicts/wars. This century we were ravaged by an almost invisible force in ways least expected, hence the difficulty to cope. Dhurandhar gives us optimism. It gives us quality. Deep down, it gives us a chance to utter a Sanskrit sentences proudly. It gives us back our lost identity.

Ranveer A : Ranveer Singh hasn’t been celebrated in last 5 yrs, ppl trolled him but he put his head down & let the work speak. Mrunal Thakur : Ranveer is my lucky charm, I did an ad with him, he really helped me. I saw it as Hamza in #Dhurandhar . He deserves all the success

Can Bumrah even do something like this? Lasith Malinga took 4 wickets in 4 balls when 4 runs needed off 32 balls and almost won the game single handedly for Sri Lanka Peak Malinga was just different, didn’t need any support, he ran the show alone

After reading the book, no true patriot could have endorsed what was ultimately shown in that film. Eg: 1. The Tricolour was removed from all scenes, while Pakistani flags were prominently displayed. 2.Indian Intelligence was portrayed in a diminished and questionable light. 3.The Pakistani Army was presented with undue softness. 4.The narrative suggested that the protagonist had erred in serving and fighting for India. 5.Even the film’s title was altered, from Sehmat to Raazi, along with many other deviations from the original spirit. Perhaps this is precisely why the National Awards Committee did not find the film deserving of top honours. This pattern of selective portrayal is not new. In the film on Sam Manekshaw as well, critical episodes, particularly those reflecting how the Field Marshal was treated by Indira Gandhi were conspicuously omitted. Those who choose to keep their eyes wide shut seldom see the truth.
Shubhendra@sourdopinions

I respectfully disagree. I loved the movie, and did not see any aman ki asha tamashaa in the movie. Nor did anyone I know who watched the movie. Only after you started objecting did people even start talking about it. Moreover, if the director’s cut was shown to the army and they liked it - then what more does one want?

@GoneTheNextBall Bumrah got the better of Head in the 2nd part of the series in Aus 83 runs, 4 outs h2h Head got immensely lucky vs Bumrah and Shami in WC 23 final Bumrah vs Abd in tests - 57 runs, 3 outs Some batsmen might get some fluke hits vs Bumrah in IPL, but not in internationals.

It's all about mentality against Bumrah . If you look to be defensive against him he will wreak havoc against you but if you take it on your ego that you want to take him to the cleaners it will come off for sure . Head, Marsh, Rayudu, ABD, Faf, Vaibhav and Bravo many more
