The President of US using "WITCH" instead of "WHICH" in a public pronouncement is the least interesting news these days.Somebody really needs to tell him:

On every platform, someone is sharing how to make the best use of AI. Shiny posts that tell how to 10x your productivity with this one simple trick. But the problem is we're not sure what to use it for.

Landmark judgement on OBC creamy layer case. The case bears the names of two people I've been working with for the past few years. @ShashankRatnoo - as the legal mind behind it. @ketanomy - who has his name on the case.

@rajscd Cutoffs are based on how many people need to get through. High or low depends on how easy or hard the paper was. On Gen candidates not scoring well - This is the other way around. SC ST candidates are catching up. OBC candidates (esp in Prelims) are already caught up.

@abhiwhy What change will it make. Such high cutoff isn't justified at all, also Cutoff marks for SC ST candidates is increasing year by year snd Gap between Gen cutoff and SC ST cutoff is declining. How come Genl candidates aren't scoring well and reserved candidates are catching up???

I can understand the disbelief. The only good thing in this, going forward, is that UPSC itself will publish the answer key for Prelims.

@abhiwhy I am shocked by such a high cutoff this year. In the last three years my marks were above the Forest cutoff, but this time I couldn’t clear prelims. According to my analysis, it should have been around 84, but it went to 92.66. @abhiwhy Sir, please share your views.

I know it from personal experience. I know how hard it is to put in your best effort and come up short. I know how easy it is at this moment to blame yourself. Knowing all this, I would ask that you take some time off.

Iran is a fortress made out of mountains and deserts. Geography of Iran makes a ground invasion next to impossible. With the Zagros mountains running along the south and south-west border and the Elbrus mountains up north, land invasions become costly affairs. There are two major deserts, the Dasht-e-Kavir and Dasht-e-Lut which cover large parts of the interior of the country. Not just that, Iran doesn't have a primate city - a single city with large concentration of population, eg: Greater Tokyo which has about 40% of Japan's population. Which means there are no clear targets for enemies. However, with this geography also come problems, the biggest being the lack of access to water in the interior of the country. A problem which has played no small part in the recent protests across the country. From what I see, all this bombardment, sanctioning and everything else associated is just a means to pressure a regime which is already under stress. But I don't think it will give the Americans the results that they want. A core thing that I can't get out of my mind, Venezuela and Iran are connected. Both were supplying cheap oil to China. Maybe this is all linked to that rare-earths blockade by China in 2025. But maybe I'm overthinking this. Who knows what comes next with the Donald in charge of the largest armed force on the planet.
