@abhiwhy sir and @UPSCprepIAS team. Requesting you to kindly consider conducting an open Zoom session(FOR REVISION OF POLITY, GEOGRAPHY, ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIALLY ECONOMY BY KETAN SIR @Ketanomy ) for all aspirants. Hoping you’ll consider this humble request sir. 🙏

@abhiwhy I am shocked by such a high cutoff this year. In the last three years my marks were above the Forest cutoff, but this time I couldn’t clear prelims. According to my analysis, it should have been around 84, but it went to 92.66. @abhiwhy Sir, please share your views.

Iran is a fortress made out of mountains and deserts. Geography of Iran makes a ground invasion next to impossible. With the Zagros mountains running along the south and south-west border and the Elbrus mountains up north, land invasions become costly affairs. There are two major deserts, the Dasht-e-Kavir and Dasht-e-Lut which cover large parts of the interior of the country. Not just that, Iran doesn't have a primate city - a single city with large concentration of population, eg: Greater Tokyo which has about 40% of Japan's population. Which means there are no clear targets for enemies. However, with this geography also come problems, the biggest being the lack of access to water in the interior of the country. A problem which has played no small part in the recent protests across the country. From what I see, all this bombardment, sanctioning and everything else associated is just a means to pressure a regime which is already under stress. But I don't think it will give the Americans the results that they want. A core thing that I can't get out of my mind, Venezuela and Iran are connected. Both were supplying cheap oil to China. Maybe this is all linked to that rare-earths blockade by China in 2025. But maybe I'm overthinking this. Who knows what comes next with the Donald in charge of the largest armed force on the planet.
