PS Treasury Committee is a cross party committee of MPs, not part of the government. Its job is to scrutinise policy, examine legislation where relevant, and hold ministers and public bodies to account on behalf of Parliament. While it can publish reports and put pressure on the government, but it doesn't have any direct power to compel the government to act.

Asked for support at work (doctor). Was offered a Teams meeting with a senior I've never met. I opened the call by explaining why I was struggling. Their response? 'Are you planning to continue your career in medicine?' eh??? Thanks for the support I guess 🙃

I was on the RVI picket line on Fri. Those doctors’ biggest issue? Job security/ progression. That means securing a core/ s’ty training job to progress. This graph assumes progression. Yet in 2024 - 49,904 applications for 9,331 core jobs. Drs not progressing. Pay flatlined.

@IamNowAMedic This is how I feel. The money thing really isn’t as important to me as the opportunity to actually have a job and survive. But seems to be on the back burner - but I feel it’s something that would get more public support in this climate.

I fully understand the fight for pay restoration is important, but the fight for us to have jobs to get paid at all post FY2...surely this needs to be heard????? Why aren't people screaming about this from the rooftops! Training more FYs & then leaving us unemployed? #MedTwitter

any tips on where to get work clothes/what to wear, for gals with bigger bust? I like scrubs bc when I wear office clothes I am self conscious of bust looking "inappropriate" (if that makes sense? Like no matter what I seem to wear??) but moving to community rotations next.
