Every lazy stereotype against Yorùbá women collapses under the tiniest bit of critical thinking. "Dark skinned." We're in Nigeria. Majority of Nigerian women are dark skinned. That's geography, not ethnicity. "Dirty." No Yorùbá state tops any sanitation or hygiene survey. The states that do have women too. Nobody stereotypes them as dirty. "Lazy." Yorùbá women have been the backbone of Yorùbáland's economy for centuries. For example, they created Ówànbẹ̀ culture. The elaborate Nigerian wedding everyone now copies? That's Yorùbá women. Fashion, event planning, catering, decor, logistics. Entire industries across Africa exist because other cultures adopted what Yorùbá women built. "Too fine to be Yorùbá." Meanwhile Yorùbá women dominate Nigeria's international modeling, music, and entertainment. They are the face of Nollywood and Afrobeats, Nigeria's biggest cultural export. None of this is grounded in data, history, or reality. So what's the motive? The goal is to make Yorùbá women seem undesirable so Yorùbá men seek spouses elsewhere. Marriage has always been a tool of conquest. It is how you access a people's commonwealth and plant yourself inside a culture you could not build (I could write a whole article on this). That is why the attacks are unprovoked. Yorùbá women did nothing. They simply occupy a position others want.

Good morning everyone. Very late yesterday I was tagged in screenshots of some tweets made by a senior executive at @Risevest around 2013 and earlier that give us very serious concerns. To avoid a knee jerk response, I forward same to our leadership team immediately I received them and this morning we have initiated an internal review and have convened a meeting with our whole team to handle this with the seriousness it requires. To be clear, Risevest was started by myself, Bosun Olanrewaju and Tony as a company that is a home to everyone who wants to do great work, with respect and love for every group of people. While these comments are from years before we even conceived of the company, they are not casual and they are too serious to be dismissed as "shitposting". They most definitely do not reflect the values of our company and so far we have not seen any evidence that this reflects the character or actual actions of the executive in question. However, we want to assure everyone offended by it that we fully understand why anyone would be offended by such statements and have commenced an internal review of the executive's work and conduct to determine the right course of action. As many of you have witnessed over the years, when any matters like these are in concern, we handle it firmly, thoroughly and without favoritism no matter who is involved at any level. We thank everyone who has raised this concern and ask that we be given time to ensure this matter is handled well not only for the sake of those who have raised the issue but also for the sake of our team members, stakeholders and every other person who such comments have offended. Thank you Regards, Eke Eleanya Urum CEO, Risevest.

“Are you more Yoruba than other Yorubas”? Coming from a Yoruba woman because someone is trying to stop film actors and skit makers from portraying the “Yoruba women are dirty” stereotype. Shame on you! Is it until you give birth to little girls and they’re scared to identify as Yoruba you’ll know your cowardice added to the problem? You can’t fight for what’s right and you won’t leave people that are fighting these stereotypes to do their thing. Keep forming woke so you can be considered “a good person”

Lol. And you want to be the President of a Disgraced Country... The Country will suddenly be graceful if you get there.. Doctors went on 13 months strike when you were Governor, one would think you have never held a political post before. You are part of the rot. Wild Animals, over to you.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Now a Disgraced Country Indeed Today, as the world marks World Health Day, we must pause for honest reflection. Nigeria, a nation of over 200 million people, continues to grapple with one of the weakest healthcare systems in the world. Our primary healthcare structure is almost comatose. We now record worse infant mortality outcomes than India, a country with a larger population, while health insurance coverage in Nigeria remains below 5%. These are not just statistics; they are a painful indictment of our priorities. Recent disclosures by the Honourable Minister of Health show that out of the ₦218 billion appropriated for healthcare capital expenditure, only about ₦36 million has been released. This is deeply troubling. At the same time, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has projected over ₦135 billion for legal expenditures. Let us reflect on this. The amount earmarked for election-related litigation is far higher than what has been made available for primary healthcare, the very foundation of a nation’s wellbeing. This is the same primary healthcare system expected to serve millions of Nigerians and support critical institutions such as: 1. University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City 2. University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar 3. University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada 4. University College Hospital, Ibadan 5. Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife 6. University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin 7. Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua 8. University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu 9. Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos 10. Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital, Kano 11. Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos 12. University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri 13. Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi 14. University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt 15. Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto 16. University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo 17. Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria 18. Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki 19. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi 20. Federal Medical Centre, Yola These institutions represent hope for millions. Yet, they remain underfunded, overstretched, and burdened by systemic neglect. A nation that prepares more for electoral disputes than for the health of its citizens is a nation that has lost its way. We must begin to ask the difficult but necessary questions: What are our true priorities? What kind of nation are we building? And for whom? Healthcare and education are not optional; they are the foundation of national development. Any country that neglects them undermines its own future. Nigeria must urgently reorder its priorities. We must invest in the health and wellbeing of our people, strengthen our institutions, and build a system that works for all, not just a few. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

One thing you must understand is that, The Nigerian state is sore afraid of the Igbo land. The one region they will never tolerate anything is the Southeast. What they saw and experienced in the civil war still baffles them till today. A region with no military might except resilience and self-determination withstood the Nigerian military might for 3 years, producing their own local weapons and fuel to fight with ordinary civilians. If not for the hunger and starvation as a result of cutting off of food supply by the Nigerian government to the South East, the Nigerian military wouldn't have prevailed. This is why they are always deploying the whole of their might and strength to the southeast even if every other part of Nigeria is burning they are more conscious of the southeast. You all saw what the Satanic Buhari did with his operation python dance,I &II. He couldn't have done that anywhere else, except in SE. How can we be experiencing the worst of insecurity in the North East North Central and the middle belt of Nigeria with little or no military help but you're focus is on ipob and ESN. Fulani Jihadist militias are massacring Christians on daily basis, in Plateau, Kaduna, Nassarawa, Benue, Taraba etc, but is it ESN that is Nigerian Army problem. Such misplaced priority birthed by fear of the Igbos. @HQNigerianArmy , Una yeye dey smell, Una mumu too much!

The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it. This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this. Trump's recklessness is needlessly putting our brave service members in harm's way, destroying America's global standing, and making life even more unaffordable for the American people. We must all stand against this and oppose funding this illegal war of choice.
