@aviralbhat They are not powerless. A simple solution to bring a strike against consumption will bring halt to everything. After all, freebies happens when spending are thru the roof and tax collections from those same households is very high.

I agree with Hon CM @siddaramaiah re asking questions n seeking answers in science. However, my comments related to whether Covid vaccines were approved in haste n my response was that due process was followed as prescribed by WHO for safety n efficacy for EUA. Losing lives in a sudden manner is always tragic n I am glad an investigation is being conducted in Hassan District
Siddaramaiah@siddaramaiah

As Chief Minister, I have a duty to respond to the genuine concerns of people who have lost loved ones unexpectedly. When parents lose their young children or families lose breadwinners without warning, seeking clarity is not misinformation; it is an act of governance rooted in empathy. While COVID vaccines may have saved many lives, globally, several studies and even admissions by manufacturers (e.g., AstraZeneca: telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/04/2…) have acknowledged rare but serious adverse events, including cardiac issues. Scientific caution is not anti-science. Many peer-reviewed studies (such as Nature, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology) have discussed myocarditis and cardiac arrest risk, particularly among young adults post-vaccination. Publicly funded stakeholders must acknowledge both the benefits and the potential risks without fear or favour. When I said ‘hastily’, it reflects the unprecedented speed of emergency rollouts globally without complete long-term data, acknowledged even by WHO and global regulatory agencies, who termed it a ‘calculated risk’ during a pandemic. Haste is not a sin when saving lives, but acknowledging potential unintended consequences is wisdom. Seeking answers is not retrospective blame. It is the duty of a government that values every life. The governments and other responsible stakeholders should find the truth, act on it, and protect our people with transparency and care.

COVID-19 vaccines developed in India were approved under the Emergency Use Authorisation framework, following rigorous protocols aligned with global standards for safety and efficacy. To suggest that these vaccines were ‘hastily’ approved is factually incorrect and contributes to public misinformation. These vaccines have saved millions of lives and, like all vaccines, may cause side effects in a very small number of individuals. It is important to acknowledge the science and data-driven processes behind their development, rather than engage in retrospective blame.

In the past month alone, in just one district of Hassan, more than twenty people have died due to heart attacks. The government is taking this matter very seriously. To identify the exact cause of these series of deaths and to find solutions, a committee of experts has been formed under the leadership of Dr. Ravindranath, Director of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, and they have been instructed to submit a study report within 10 days. Orders were given to this same committee back in February to conduct a thorough study on the reasons behind sudden deaths among young people in the state, and whether the COVID vaccines could have any adverse effects. In this regard, the process of examining and analyzing heart patients is also underway. We too value the lives of children, youth, and innocent people who have their entire lives ahead of them, and we share the concerns of their families. I condemn the actions of BJP leaders who are using such matters for their political gains. It cannot be denied that the hasty approval and distribution of the Covid vaccine to the public could also be a reason for these deaths, as several studies worldwide have recently indicated that COVID vaccines could be a cause for the increasing number of heart attacks. Before BJP criticize us on this matter, they should ask their conscience. We are fully committed to finding the true cause behind these sudden series of deaths happening in Hassan district and across the state and to preventing them. With this goal, we have already implemented schemes like Hridaya Jyothi and Gruha Arogya to monitor public health. Based on the report from the expert committee under Dr. Ravindranath’s guidance, necessary actions will also be taken. As a government, we are making every possible effort to protect the health of the people. I urge everyone to visit the nearest health center immediately for a check-up if you have symptoms such as chest pain or difficulty breathing. Do not ignore these signs. #HeartAttack #PreventiveCare

Soham Parekh, an Indian software engineer, is at the center of a global tech storm after being accused of moonlighting secretly holding multiple full-time jobs across several US-based startups. What’s shocking is not just the number of jobs, but the alleged deceit and breach of trust involved. In an industry that thrives on transparency and ethics, this incident has sparked heated debate about remote work accountability, corporate surveillance, and the fine line between side hustles and fraud. The tech world is watching closely and consequences may be far-reaching.

I'm not sure most people truly understand the cost of transitioning from ICE vehicles to electric vehicles. Are we just moving pollution from city streets to biodiversity hotspots? Indonesia (~50% of the world's nickel) strip-mines paradise islands. Congo (~70% of cobalt) destroys communities with child labour. China controls the minerals that make EVs possible: 90% rare earths, 75% lithium, 80% tungsten. All of this is powered by coal plants. There are environmental costs at each step. Are we truly considering all this? Knowing us(humans), we'll always chase "better technology" over what's better for the planet. Cleaner streets, yes. But at the cost of dirtier oceans, shattered communities, and forgotten islands?

Every few months, India mourns another tragedy — a bridge collapse, a train derailment, a flyover crash, or now, the heartbreaking Air India plane disaster claiming 242 lives. Poor infrastructure. Corruption. Negligence. And sadly — zero value for a common man’s life. From Morbi Bridge collapse (140+ dead) to Balasore train accident (290+ dead) — lessons are never learned. Why does life in India feel so cheap when systems keep failing and no one is held accountable? It's not destiny. It's design. 💔 #AirIndiaCrash #accountability

Every Muslim in the world can enter Mecca regardless of their race, nationality, or the religion they were born into. I hope one day that every Sanatani in the world will be able to enter Jagannath temple in Puri regardless of their race, nationality, or the religion they were born into. Some Westerners have been following Sanatana Dharma for decades and have never eaten beef in their life but are still not allowed to enter Jagannath temple in Puri. Jagannath is called the lord of the Lord of the universe. The Lord of the universe isn't only for Asian origin Hindus. Sanatanis all around the world should be able to enter his temple. Jai Jagannath!🙏❤️

A sinful Indian Hindu can enter Jagannath Puri temple but a white western Sanatani devotee or a black African devotee who doesn't eat beef cannot enter the Jagannath temple in Puri. How is it fair? Isn't this racism?
