Ok last nuzlocke ethics question How do yall handle the safari zone? First encounter seems impossible. Theres 4 “zones”. Water. Etc

@aboboat @KyaColosseum Sad niggas nuzlockers need to understand that "forcing you to play under tedious conditions" is not synonymous with "good game design", it's just tedious, even though RR and RnB do the same things in HCN mode, at least in those games the difficulty curve is better structured.

@metaboss84 @grenisect Having played both - Reborn Julia is so much more encounter/RNG dependent it’s insane. Especially if you’re capping yourself at her highest level mon (15 iirc).

Feel like overly tuned and optimized nuzlockes defeat the purpose of a nuzlocke. like if 90% of your team has to be made up of very specific mons with very specific movesets to even stand a chance...... whats the point?

@Nearigami_ @The_Time_Exile The game starts with a mini Battle Tower-like segment then you jump to level 38 on everything. 2/3 of the starters kill the Tyranitar lead for free, and the Zygarde is very weak especially considering early encounters like Shiinotic and Lapras are available, context matters!

@The_Time_Exile Not all criticism is healthy, constructive, or valuable. Good criticism comes from understanding what a work is trying to do and engaging with it on its own terms. If the first gym starts this way, I assume it is starting at a higher level curve and is more fair in context.

Honestly I think that Pokemon fans are way too comfortable bullying people who spend hundreds of hours creating a free fangame that they aren’t obligated to play or even pay attention to.

@AntonySchnee @KyaColosseum You have no context of the items/encounters available to you at this point. Also unironically quick claw is easier to plan around when you know for a fact it’s happening every turn.

@KyaColosseum The first gym is just the tutorial and isn't as difficult as it seems, but then you encounter fights like this that simply makes the gameplay experience less fun. This can't even be considered artificial difficulty; this is just bullshit.
