Artist Tanja Playner in the Interview. Her art willbe on view in the Carrousel du Louvre Paris next week. "There are artists for whom I have great respect. Starting with Monet for his depiction of light and the entirely new style of painting he pioneered with Impressionism, Pablo Picasso for his incredible talent and versatility, and Françoise Gilot, who had the courage to leave Picasso and lived to be over 100 years old, fueled by her love of painting. I admire Chagall for his romantic artwork and Henri Matisse for his deceptively simple yet captivating style. I also find female artists like Joan Mitchell, Leonora Carrington, and Georgia O'Keeffe fascinating as individuals. I can't say that these artists have directly influenced my work, but I do recognize that I share a similar emotional sensibility with some of them, and my perception of certain themes and artistic expression is similar to theirs". Tanja Playner About Art Magazine (AAM): Your artwork stands out due to its colors and style, and it has become quite recognizable. Is that important to you? Are there any moments in your life that have influenced your art? Tanja Playner: Of course, you want to be recognized in the art world. But what is even more important to me is the authenticity of my work. All my pieces are very personal. Many of them capture moments from my life. I find inspiration through travel, but also in my surroundings, from encounters with people, and above all, from my family. There are times in life when you become more reserved, especially when political situations change. These kinds of events have also influenced me as an artist in recent years. Matisse expressed this in his paintings of the view from his studio window, Picasso in Guernica, and I too have processed these experiences in some of my own works, and I still do so in some of my current pieces. Even if I try to suppress these feelings, they unconsciously come through. I think that a true artist isn't just a "clown" for entertainment; rather, they embody their entire life, all their experiences and emotions, in their work, and that is exactly what I do. In a way, my artwork is like a diary. #tanjaplayner #artist #art #contemporaryart #modernart #tanjaplayner

In Paris, between the Carrousel du Louvre, Art Basel, and the robbery at the Louvre Museum. On October 19, we were at the art fair at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris on the booth of the PAKS Gallery, where my art was exhibited, just a few meters from the Musee du Louvre, when the first visitors excitedly reported that something had happened at the Louvre. At first, I thought someone was armed in the museum. I was afraid for the people there. When I then read online that armed assailants had stolen the jewels, I could hardly believe that something like that could even happen at the Louvre – one of the most highly secured museums in the world. It felt like being in a fake movie. I hope the Crown Jewels are found and returned to their place in the Musée du Louvre. Despite the incident, the fair was very busy. Many people who were standing outside the locked doors of the museum subsequently came to the art fair. As a result, our exhibition that day was even more crowded than usual. On October 24, 2025, we were also by the Grand Palais for Art Basel Paris. The Musée du Louvre was once again packed with visitors that day.
