In the future, there will be three major powers in the world: China, USA, EU. Neutral countries will move as much as possible towards the EU as their preferred partner because both China and the USA treat other countries disrespectfully and try to extort them. Europe will be the only great power and market to turn to if you want to have an equal and fair relationship. Canada is already moving towards Europe for this exact reason. India and Japan will also form a closer relationship with Europe. This is what soft power means. MAGA replies in the comment section will prove the point.

I think we Europeans should look at the possible US NATOXIT from the positive side:
All other NATO members can not only help Ukraine, but economically strangulate russia until it's ultimate demise. That problem solved.
Then, US will be alone in it's fight against China, which might happen sooner or later. No other NATO personnel would have to die in another senseless war from two ego's to large.
That said, Europe's defense industry will be on par with that from China, since nobody will buy from US anymore.

The main issue with the ME is it’s on the extreme end of US supply lines and the US absolutely needs European logistics if not military capabilities.

@abramavitz @Michael7ucci Sure it is. The U.S. controls the most important oceans (Atlantic and Pacific) by its natural geography alone as well as most of the Western Hemisphere. Where it would suffer is the ability to project power into the Middle East, but then the ME would be entirely Europes problem.
